Yesterday, Don Wallace from Liquid Force posted a comment on one of the Brostock threads yesterday. He mentioned that the winner of the invitational double up contest at Brostock would be getting a cool $20,000. I immediately got on the phone and asked him if that was a misprint and if I should remove it. However, it was not!!

I couldn't believe it. I haven't heard of any pro contest with a winning prize of $20,000, especially when it's just a double up contest at a festival-style event. Not only will the first place winner get $20,000, but there is another $20,000 that will be distributed amongst the other top finishers. Is it just me, or is this absolutely crazy prize money. I don't know where Monster, Liquid Force, Malibu and all the other sponsors come up with that kind of cash, but I like it!! Now if I could only hit a double up!

Here is a rough list of some of the riders. I know that Harf, Parks, Lyman and Harris will not be competing. Harf, Parks and Lyman are hurt, but I'm not sure why Randy isn't able to make it. I should have a final list soon...

Shane Bonifay
Mike Ennen
Ben Greenwood
Collin Harrington
Kevin Henshaw
Phillip Soven
Shawn Watson
Chad Sharpe
Daniel Watkins
JD Webb
Erik Ruck
Jimmy La Riche
Jeff McKee
Chris O’Shea
Rusty Malinoski
Aaron Rathy

oh wow... thats going to be huge.... Dave, when you say Parks, Lyman, and Harf are hurt,

Parks: he was riding again, he didnt injure himself again did he?
Lyman: same story as parks
Harf: How bad of an injury is Harf lookin at?

From what I understand, Parks and Lyman are riding, but still recoving, so they aren't ready for double ups. Harf hurt his back, but I'm not sure how serious it is. Parks will be one of the judges!

Indy double back roll from sharpe, or 10's from LaRiche, Malinoski, Soven or Rathy.

Harris was invited, but he told me he can't make it. I believe Adam is going to be there as well. I don't know about Gonzalez or Murray.

I'm sure that if somebody made if affordable for you to attend, you'd be all over it!

It's about time that there is some real money on the line. It's almost embarrassing when you watch The Weekly Update on Fuel and see the prize checks handed out in different sports and then you see Nicola Butler, who did an amazing run that the majority of guys couldn't do, standing there with a $250 check. That wouldn't have even covered her flight from Orlando to Dallas. I understand all the economics of not having a lot of prize money when the sport is relatively small compared to others, but way to go LF for putting some real money on the line. I excited to hear what is thrown down at BroStock.

just being around that unique, beautiful scenery is a sure win.

There is nothing that can quite compare to the spray of cool blue water, coming off a wakeboarder in flight in front of a backdrop of Navajo tapestry colors smeared on canyon walls!

Not to Mention so of the other things they are giving away. LF invited a bunch of ams out there, My Homies Colin Ryan and Mike Bros are heading out there today. The AM contest winner gets a free House boat for a Rental for 16 people on Powell for I think 2 weeks. Not to mention the fact that they get to compete against the pro's in the 20K contest.

I know Colin's been training hard hitting massive double ups. Watch out for the Hoochie to Blind 3!

Its great to see companies putting up some serious Cash contest!

I asked Don if I could get in on it, but he politely declined my request. I have no idea why because I would have shaken up the whole contest with my blind, deaf and dumb indy Pete Rose!!

The location of Brostock will be the west northwest corner of Warm Creek Bay. Go through the cut and follow the curve of the bay to the left and you'll end up at "Bro Beach." There will be at least four houseboats there tomorrow, including the WakeWorld houseboat. I believe the Park Service will also be set up and serving food. See you there!!

Not that is matters but I talked to Shane Bonifay at PWT last weekend and he said this double up contest is gonna be HUGE!!! I guess Monster put all the funding in for it! Red Bull has the Parks double or nothing and looks like Monster is gonna have the Brostock double up! Pretty sweet!

im not usually too into watching wakeboard contest footage, but this is something i HAVE to see. hopefully a video will be put out with everyones hits. the level of riding is going to be insane because everyone wants that cash money. i can only imagine what the pros have been working on to stomp in this comp.
