extra sacs 04 san

Has anyone added sacs to the stock plumbing using the overflow to fill the sacs any ideas would be great 04 super air nautique

yes it's been done. try searching the forums over at planetnautique. Pretty sure there have been quite a few threads on this topic.

Here's what's been done by a few other people, including me. I've had this setup for 2 years now with no problems.

what is the plastic insert for why is that needed? and do you run an extra hose with a t to the drain? do you use the wedge sacks ir will the normal sacs work? what do you use for the front and will I have to get a different prop I have an acme 13.5x17.5

Why Line the borrom of the bag with PVC??

The half inch PVC line to cover the bottom of the bag is probably to make sure that the plumbing is always at the bottom of the bag and not floating around in there so it always drains completely. This way once the bag is empty the hard tank will start draining so you don't need to T the line, they will fill and drain one after the other using the overflow that is already present. You just have to add another vent/overflow to the bag.

The pvc is there to prevent suction and collapse of the hard tanks. When the bag becomes empty and collapses there needs to be a vent so that air can flow and let the hard tanks empty. Trust me it will not work on a single pump system without doing this.

Not sure if the 04 has reversable pumps or not. If it does this will work great.

Jos has it. You don't need a tee, you only need something in the bottom of the bags to create a passage of air. I used the recommended pvc because it won't breakdown over time. You don't need to add a vent just use the overflow line from the hard tank to vent the bag.

You can use whatever bag size you want. I have a 211 and had custome bags made because of the walkthrough on the passanger side. I also wen to the acme 1234 prop (14.5 x 14.25)

i have the areator pumps one to fill one to empty i guess I do not need a t because when the hard tank empties it will need to suck from the bag to vent . what do I do in the front are there sacs I can use that wont be in the way or what are some of the things people do. I did not want lead because I did not know if that would be bad on a single axel trailer or if its bad for the boat

Great diagram and post TBAS dave. I had not heard of lining the bottom with PVC, but it makes sense. Do the sacks seem to drain pretty well with this method?

It works GREAT!

The only problem I've had is with the soft rubber in the impellers allowing water to push by when the bags are full/under some pressue. That is now not a problem as CC came out with a stiff 'red' impeller that doesn't let that happen and doesn't stick like the old black ones did. I know of a few others that have used this method with no problems. Just remember to open the ball valve before filling or emptying. If not you'll fill the bag with air or collapse the hard tanks (they're plastic).

This is probably a stupid question, but what is the ball valve for?

I would assume the ball valve is designed as an emergency shut off in case the bags get too full. My Moomba has a ball valve that is similiar.

I use a brass one. I let the pumps run until water is spilling out the overflow, then turn off the pumps and close the valve. That method seems to keep them full withou putting too much pressure on the whole system. The just open them before emptying. You can eliminate the vavle but there will be some syphoning, limiting what the bag holds.

Thanks TBAS dave! I was looking at the kit from fly high for nautiques..very similar the just don't use the ball valves. good information thanks
