We are making some more HB trips to Shasta this year & looking to venture out to some different spots than we have in the past, specifically the Pit River Arm.

Can anyone recomend some good coves for to plant the HB for a couple days up in the Pit Arm? Thanks in advance.

At the mouth of the Pit Arm across from Jones Valley Marina/launch there are some good coves. Its nice because its close to marina for ice and picking people up. If you head down the arm there are so many to choose, if you cruise all the way down the arm right near the no-ski area there is a camp area you can only access by boat which is called arbuckle flat and I have seen people park their houseboats in that area.

Aaron... That's a cool spot. Be careful of submerged trees, though. there is a reason that a lot of the coves are blocked with 5mph bouys.

Absolutely,

We haven't had much rain, so the water is pretty low for this time of year and some trees are starting to show but CIE....Evan is right thats a bad arm for submerged trees. Stay in the middle for boarding. Whats nice about the coves near the mouth is that if the Pit Arm is blown out by wind you can cruise up the Squaw arm and trying boarding there.

last year we had 2 houseboats on that corner at arbuckle, nice morning and evening but sometimes boat traffic in the day got a little rough and moved some anchors.
