I am thinking about making a purchase in the next few weeks and was curious if anyone had any experience with either one of these boats. The 2002 21v has about 400 hrs and the 98 22v has about 500. They are both in really good condition. Does anyone know how the wake is behind either boat? Which is the better deal??

I have an '01 21V - same hull as the '02- and the wake is great with ballast. I run 400lbs on either side of the engine and am putting a 700lb sac in the walk way this summer. It's a solid boat and if you like to surf, put both 400's in one compartment and the wake is MASSIVE.

Jeremy, I would also ask that question at tigeowners.com. There are a lot of people that might be able to comment a little more. But, you have chosen a great boat company for sure. :-)

The 02 21V is 4k lb's and has a 102" beam, the 98 22V is 3,200#'s and a 96" beam.

If it were me, I would go with the heavier/wider boat. It will feel bigger even though it's a foot shorter IMO.

I 2nd david, there are a handful of regular posters on www.tigeowners.com that have these models.

02 21v. From what mike said. Width is a big difference. Personally I would go with the newer. When I was looking at boats, I had plenty of people say to stay away from the 90's tiges....poor construction. ask Tige mike about that, not sure if its correct.

Jeremy, I had a 03' 20i the fit and finish in my opinion is much better in the 02' than the 98'. Tige' stepped up there quality once they had a following. As far as the wake goes I have had kids doing all the flips and tricks that they are doing behind "true wakeboard" boats. Plus if you want to ski, you can.

Awakeat816,

You must be talking about the two used boats that WWS has in Denver. That 21V has been babied! But you'll have to do something about the swim platform (good idea gone bad). But on the same note.. I'm pretty sure the 98 has only been outside when it's on the water. It's a win/win.

I would go with the newer boat.

Thanks Brian, you are correct about these two boats being in Denver. I went ahead with the 21V!! Thanks for all the input everybody.
