Hey, my girlfriend and I went into Larson Marine in Stockton, CA yesterday to check out the boats and they have this crazy deal goin on right now. If you buy your boat now through labor day weekend, they will pay for your gas for the summer!!! Has anybody heard of this before?

Sounds good but it gotta have a catch. I ride 7 days a week so that's almost 700 bucks a week. But I've been looking for a new boat this year and honestly every place is selling their boats at close to cost. Most close to 25k off. I'd rather have that then free gas

If they are giving away gas you can bet they are adding it into the price of the boat.

on top of that, i am sure it is a pre-paid gas card with a pre-set limit.. 1 tank per month for 3 months = $120+ a month (give or take) = $300-$500 card that yes, undoubtedly, will be "absorbed" into the cost of your new boat.. ad gimmick --but encouraging in times like these.. give them a hand, everyone has got to try and promote in the gas crisis these days..

When we sell cars and give away free gas it's always based on the national average for gas prices and assuming a certain miles per year. Using an average fuel economy amongst certain vehicles.

So is it on new boats only?
Summer starts on June 21st and ends on Sept 20th, so you are getting free gas for 3 months basically?

I have nothing but great things to say about Mike and the guys at Larson Marine. Mike from Larson is a stand up guy. We had an issue with our interior and Mike had the whole boat redone. He just said that they have no limit and will buy your gas for summer. Why do you guys think he is full of it.

How do they know that you are just using it for the boat. Too many people will be filling up both the boat and their cars.

That's a great question. How do you guys know if they are filling up the boat and not the truck.

i over heard someone talking on the fone today at ultimate watersports about a 3000 dollar gas card. not sure if this is what he was talkin about but pretty sure it is after reading this post

$3k? that's a great deal if you don't mind paying for all those tanks of gas many times over with interest during the life of your loan, while they absorb that cost into the price of the new boat you are financing.. if you have a credit card, weigh which interest rate is lower between the two, card or your loan? if you are going to charge for gas anyway, you might as well do it with the one that provides a lower interest rate..

however, imo, you are better off asking for that $3k in the form of a rebate or discount off of your purchase price.. especially, since some boat lenders will go 240 mos. these days.. of course, all of this depends on if they do indeed have a so-called $3k gift card..

Did anyone ever confirm this about Ultimate?

Is Larson Marine on the water? Maybe it's free gas from them only for the summer?

It's built into the price of the boat... guaranteed. Dealers are scrambling to move boats.

i have the same type of special. however im not building into the price. my deal is based on 25 hours of use. I know most people use there boats more around here. my incentive is 25hours X 6gal x $4.00= $600. maybe not a screamin deal, but im not building in to the price of the boat at all and it sure helps.
