Yesterday while fogging my Mercruiser 5.7 to winterize, I was never able to stall it at the end. I followed the service manual to a "T" and dumped as much as I could at the end, and the engine bogged down but never died out. Instead I quickly turned off the key after I was done squirting through the carb.

Has anyone run into this issue? If so am I fine or should I remove the plugs as well and squirt some fogger into the cylinders as well?

You are fine. It does not need to stall completely.

Think of all the car engines that will be parked for the winter without any fogging or fuel treatment and 99.9999% of those will run fine every spring. But hey, us boat owners are that much more careful in caring for our investments!

Remove the coil wire and turn the engine over for 10-seconds while fogging. Replace the coil wire.

^^^^^Same here. As long as the exhaust is pluming out the fogging smoke, you're good to go.

Throttle body and MPI engines are very hard to stall. I believe that is why Mercruiser no longer recommends fogging. I have posted this several times maybe you missed it. Upload
