Whats up gang. I finally took delivery of this pig. Conditions were rough so we spent most of the day cruising and surfing. Check the pics...

I really dig those Tower speaker clamps. Just curious, why Teak?

Nice... the switch graphics match well with the gel. Is that metalflake or marble? Teak is the way to go lasts forever and you can always make it look good again. Fiberglass gets scratched and chipped up from boards and docks. Really cool boat, CONGRATS

Yeah, that's the marble color panel on the rear and a marble stripe.

Evilone, I'm in vegas right now getting headaches and donating money to the poor casinos. It's my community service I do once a month. We will get the boats back here again soon...

how do those new exhaust ports perform? are they quiter or noisier than previous year's?

Overall, the exhaust is pretty quiet. I was impressed knowing how big the motor was. I got the 8.1 450 hp, and they do a good job of keeping the beast at bay. I will get some more pics up soon.

That was with tax. The spec sheet came right up to 6 digits. Tax in AZ is a big fist in the keester. Jonny, will look you up for sure. We are going to be at Mead early next month.

The dealer didn't recommend I go with the tri-axle. They said it was unnecessary. I have my boat in dry storage anyway, so my trailer is rarely used.

Yeah GD (greatdane) the sticker price sounds ridiculous but you can always finance one for 20 years and pay $100,000+ in interest which is what most people do. I would hate having a boat payment so I pay cash for used boats... Anyway, nice ride Ben and congrats.

i want to develop breasts for a living, and the only real estate i want any part of lies below the belt....on the reeaaaal. SICK BOAT. Can't imagin getting to ride behind one of those. What stopped you from upping your boat to the xstar?
Old     (bennygoodx)      Join Date: Aug 2006       10-16-2006, 8:46 PM Reply
The x-star is cute. Great wakeboard boat, but I was looking for a great surf wake and a party barge. X-star holds 6 comfortably. X-45 holds 12 comfortably. I'm often out in rough water, so the bigger the boat, the better.

It's like one of my clients with B cups asking for A cup reduction. Heck naw, they want the D's....

Did you add those speakers under the dash?

Have you had any problems with the rope getting caught around the tower lights so far?
Old     (wakeboardin2k4)      Join Date: Sep 2006       10-17-2006, 11:41 AM Reply
those "speakers" are two rockford fosgate subs, probably 12"s? Either way the driver is going to be bouncing all over the place when those bad boy hit.

110K? Wow... Even if you are banking a half million a year that is to much for that boat IMO. Do you just have money to burn? If you do congrats. It is beautiful but to me. Not worth the $. The Supra 24 is only half that cost with a better wake. No hate here just my own stupid opinion.
Old     (psudy)      Join Date: Dec 2003       10-18-2006, 7:20 AM Reply
How do you know a Supra has a better wake? Have you ever been in a 45?
Old     (gene3x)      Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Dallas , TX       10-18-2006, 7:53 AM Reply
Yup... and similar to the X-star need to be weighted an unreal amount to get a big beefy weight. Mnay extra sacs beyond stock.
Old     (projectely4)      Join Date: Apr 2003       10-18-2006, 8:14 AM Reply
actually it doesn't need to be weighted an unreal amount. alot of people think putting alot of weight in the back will make a good wake with mastercrafts. from my experiences especially with the new twin tip MC's is that you need alot more weight in the front of the boat compared to other boats.

alot of riders throw all these sacs in the boat and dont see it translate into a bigger wake and think its because they dont have enough weight but its just bad placement.

in my X2 i have more weight in the front of the boat than i do in the rear and the wake is imo one of the best out there.
Old     (moondoggie)      Join Date: Nov 2003       10-18-2006, 9:03 AM Reply
Gene, I have an x-45, why don't you come up to portland, Or. and ride behind my boat and see if the supra 24' throws a bigger/better wake. A 45 will make your nose bleed.
Old     (bennygoodx)      Join Date: Aug 2006       10-18-2006, 9:28 AM Reply
Chris... LOL. Nose bleed... I love it. The wake is massive and the trim tab allows you to detail it sooo nicely.

Gene, my thing is this... I don't wakeboard to push limits and try new tricks. I have to much to lose by getting hurt wakeboarding, which I have many times over already. My addiction is wakesurfing and boat bun. And lots of both. I went to demo all 24' boats on the market and found that the X-45 was the best for my needs, bar none.

Will, I added two 12" PUNCH at the drivers feet with another amp. I also added two more JL 6" in the cockpit.

Billy E, I love the X2! For that size boat, there is nothing better. The wakeboarding wake is perfect and you can surf that thing til no end. Here are some more 45's from my delivery day.

Killer boat man! I really like the clean look. Wasn't a big fan of the switch graphics for the x2's this year but they look good on this boat! Just wondering if you had the lights on the tower speaks done at MC or if you did them yourself afterwards? I have a new x2 on order and want to do the same with mine and the interior speakers too.}
Old     (gene3x)      Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Dallas , TX       10-18-2006, 9:43 AM Reply
Well I admit I have only been behind it once and maybe it was weighted wrong so maybe I need to give it another shot. The X-2 I was definately not impressed with at all. The X-star is nice but again not for the extra money. You still need to weight it well over stock to get a decent wake. It seemed the X-45 was the same way but maybe I got a wrong a impression.
Old     (bennygoodx)      Join Date: Aug 2006       10-18-2006, 9:52 AM Reply
Jason, thanks. I was a little worried about the switch graphics too but love them now. Those are the new towers and lights and speakers that come on the 07 MCs. The LED backlit grills cost $375 a piece, however. I opted to do only the towers because a lot of the people that are in my boat are drunk and female. I saw bikinis, lip gloss, and beer bottles are stuck in those aluminum grills if they were in the cockpit of the boat. Here is a close up of the regular grills. I added these speakers in the cockpit as they didn't come as standard.

I did all of my upgrades at the MC dealer in AZ. They are truly world class.

I feel bad for you...most of your passengers are drunk and female..lol. You'd think you'd really pimp it out and do led lighting in the entire boat and maybe put a pole in!haha.
Seriously though, I think you can put led lighting in afterwards even under the plastic grills? There are some aftermarket companies I've seen in wakeboarding mag that can supply the lighting I think?

I'd love to see some cool pics and names of Products that people use for LED. I'm up for doing it, but don't wanna look like the guy that should be also wearing a gold chain and a platinum grill while cruising in my MC. LOL

Any idea of costs? and/ or companies to use. i'm up in Canada (eh!) so I'm assuming I'll probably have to order it from somewhere.
Old     (wakeboardin2k4)      Join Date: Sep 2006       10-18-2006, 10:23 AM Reply
you can buy LED lights individually from www.sounddomain.com That is an audio equiptment website and then do all the wiring yourself. Or order straight from streetglow. Or you could pay to much for the LEDs that are "designed" for boats. Not to knock those companies but we all know if its for a boat the $$$ gets jacked up
Old     (factory)      Join Date: Aug 2006       10-18-2006, 10:33 AM Reply
putting the aluminum grills in the boat would be dangerous. with the added speakers set into the seat backs. could get ugly. you can added the led light bar or the standard lights to the tower. the boat looks sic anyway you put.

gene-you can come to arizona and ride in the x-45 or the x-star (real boats!! LOL) you can leave the fourwinds at home!! jk :-)

Ryan, lets hit it within the next two weeks. Hit me a PM and we will figure it out. We may need half wetsuits but who cares...

Factory, while you were in front of the computer looking at pictures of boats and surfing, etc., I was on the water cruising around with a homeboy, drinking beer, and lounging in the sun. And the day that you stop relying on me for the entourage of ladies, trips to Vegas, and partying, then you can justify your posts on wakeworld. For now, just sit back and think about how jealous you are that I'm going to be at the lake again soon...

Beautiful boat. I second the switch graphics looking good! I heard that the group that designed the X-45 at MC got fired and I can't figure out why? I think it's a killer boat and the wake looks great.

Ben, do you ever ride at Saguaro or Canyon?
Old     (bennygoodx)      Join Date: Aug 2006       10-18-2006, 2:44 PM Reply
Ryan- 70 degrees and dropping at Pleasant. Was there yesterday.

Chris- the X-80 surf wake is actually inferior to the X-45. The double engines on the 80 changes the surfing characteristics quite a bit. Thanks for the compliment.

Gene- it's easy to take Factory's boat bun. They're easy prey.
