Anyone have pictures of the wake. How is it compared to the old 2001s?

Similar, but better due to the heavier engine and greater strut angle.

I looked at them both for awhile and couldn't find any wake pics on any of the correct craft websites. But the wake got favorable reviews. The Excel is the same hull and some of the Martiniques in the early 90's were the same hull from what I saw. I have seen some Excels with 351's and some with 454's.

Barfoot Nauti's with the Vdrive throw a massive wake un saced. It is steep and will throw you. I have a bouudy that has one and sometime we dont even need an extended pylon and we can fly

Leo - My understanding is that the wake is similar, but harder to keep clean. You know how clean the 2001 wake's stay under weight.

The hull's do not flatten out like the 2001's do - they have a deeper 'V' that runs all the way through. This changes the wake shape and makes it less consistent. The bigger engine is tempting, but I'd stay with a 2001 hull.

Drove a 2001 hull and the barefoot/excel hull both a lot of times. Really like the Excel! Even with no weigth it puts a bigger/fatter wake then some new sold wakeboarding boats now days. The Excel has a little bit steeper wake then the 2001. The Excel is also a nicer boat inside with the V-drive and sometimes an open bow. But it's also 50% more expensive on the second hand market then the 2001.

Froese, I have decided to stay. I was just wondering because there was a good deal on ebay for one. Looked like a good deal, but had some scary signs. He said he only used in salt water twice, but it had a flush system. Plus they replaced the trailer after 10 years.
