We are considering an 08 Supra Sunsport 22V. When we took it out we had a hard time getting a good surf wake out of it. We only had the stock ballast (1400 lbs). I wanted to see what it takes to dial it in. Is it even possible? We really love to surf but my DD isnt doing the job. Any other info about the boat would be great too. Thanks for any input!

Were you filling just one side of the boat, or filling all the ballast?

You probably only had a couple hundred pounds on one side if you filled a back compartment. With that boat, because it is wide and has a lot of freeboard, you'll need a lot of weight on one side before it'll start to shape up.

Yes we just had the port side filled and the center. from what I have gathered its going to take a little more weight but we should be able to get it. Now I just need input from ya'll on what the right set up would look like. (thanks Taft!)

I have an 07 Supra and we surf behind it almost exclusively. Center bag is 1100 pound bag each rear corner is a 750 pound bag and in the front I have a 400 pound bag. This combination creates a nice surf wake. Hope that helps

I believe the sunsport version has the step in cooler. That means there is a empty space under the port side side seat where the cooler is on the other model. If so - put a 400 bag under that seat, an either stack another 400 bag on top of the stock rear ballast or replace the bag with a larger one.
Weight up front also needs to be added. Make sure the wakeplate is all the way UP.

Thanks for the input. Keep it coming. I am encouraged by the comments. Sounds like we just need to dial it in a bit!
