Everyone is debating over the Epic. I was wondering if anyone has any input on the new wakecraft? You can see pics @ wakecraft.com. It seems pretty sick, 50mph.

Look at some of the older posts...

Looks like there are already some personal owners of Wakecrafts on this site. They have some detailed pics and reviews of their personally owned Wakecraft.

Based on numbers... I think there are many more Epics being produced, but have only seen the one post of a guy that personally owns one... he is "king of the cage" fighter. But have not really seen any pics or reviews of those who personally own one.

Chime in... those who are personal owners of some of these newer boats!!!

Yes, I have got them too. I have both Reflex and Body Glove. They are really funny, just to try something different from wakeboarding.

ive only riden two sets, and my whole side is bruised up from falls. i though it would be mellower than wakeboarding. not really.

I would think they are safer on your knees than a wakeboard. Facing straight ahead and you probably pop out of them when you fall?

knees: i was thinking the same thing looks like a serious injury waiting to happen.

havent had probs with the knees yet, i hurt the boys plenty though landing skiis up and slplit apart.

The knees aren't what I would worry about. I am thinking more like torn groins.

Either way, if you are having fun, do it. I think im gonna stick to the wakeboad for now.

Love my Wakecraft! Realistically proped how you would want it to be more like 45-47mph. Throw in that you can customize it how you want it in terms of vinyl patterns and gel schemes its a great deal. No rooster tail, good sized surf wake's, great boarding wake, when you hit about 35 MPH the wake is very flat and good for some swerving or passing through the course. Last weekend was fun and every Wakecraft was different. Cant wait to see the pic's of two people surfing at the same time behind the same boat!

Yup! Do you get a can of gold spray paint for the wheels of your tow vehicle and some dingle balls for the interior when you buy one of those. Ha cant forget a nice Praying Jesus hands sticker.

you can do that all you want, i just think that boat wars are a waste of time . the most important thing about a boat purchase and ownership is that your happy with it and it suits your needs. which it does and in Kevin's case as well.
what makes wakecraft onwerhip great as well is the the direct relationship with the manufacturerand other owners. when was the last time the owner of mastercraft gave you a $4000 check for referring him a customer. or when was the last time you had a question about the boat and the owner of mastercraft called you back directly. how about when was the last time the owner of mastercraft invited you out to his houseboat for the weekend with all the food and drink you can handle?? its cool to be a part of a new company with a great product. not everyone will like that , but thats why there are so many choices..

23 since september but who's counting. your right though , when rob shirley first started mc im sure it was cool to be one of the first owners and you had direct contact. anyway i like my boat as im sure you like yours. i think this board is far more produtive as a positive place than a " blasting " place.

Not my style either, but I'm sure some like it. I hope they can afford it, IMO $50K for a startup company's first product is a little steep, when you can get a decent size dealer network and support from other manufacturers for the same price or less.

I think the new Wakecrafts look pretty cool. I don't get why someone would blast a guy or a boat company for trying to do something they love.

Thanks dude, you know Ive been trying to get some but here in the central valley the wind has been rediculous and I didnt bring a camera last weekend. I'll be heading out for an couple hours on Saturday to try a new prop I'll get some and doc. the speed and ballast etc. Maybe by Saturday night or Sunday sometime.

You have to re-prop that thing, I thought they had a ton of power? How much stock ballast do they have?
Old     (deltaboy)      Join Date: Jan 2007       05-03-2007, 12:17 PM Reply
I actually think it looks good with or without the logo. Not too worried about it because I love the boat, smooth, quiet (yes even with the side exhaust, great stereo and a big azz 67 gallon gas tank that was filled up by the owner of Wakecraft last weekend! Thanks again David! ITs good times and isnt that whats its all about Matt? By the way I dig the Mastercraft nice colors.
Old     (deltaboy)      Join Date: Jan 2007       05-03-2007, 12:21 PM Reply
I was getting to 5300RPM's too quick IMO. I also had free flowing silencers place inline so I wasnt getting the speed I wanted but have a stock prop (Cutter SS 4 blade) with a bit more cup to keep the speed around 45 and the rpm's down a notch. Right now with this prop Im doing about 45 at 5050 RPM's. New silencers on the way just to open it up a bit more and see if it helps get the RPM's a bit more (slight loss in HP with them in). We'll see how it goes. They do have the PMC 6.0L Vortec. 375HP
Old     (deltaboy)      Join Date: Jan 2007       05-03-2007, 12:22 PM Reply
Sorry stock ballast is 1200 LBS. And the prop is just to get some more top end without screwing up the killer pop it has with the hole shot.
Old     (rodltg2)      Join Date: Oct 2005       05-03-2007, 1:09 PM Reply
the silencers must really make a difference on the performance. my power is awesome as is !!

when taking this boat out in public , make sure you plan extra time at the ramp. since ive had it out , i get surrounded by people checking it out and asking questions. all positve.

i agree with kevin, whats Ghetteo about this??

Hey Matt, your losing. You've gotta find a thread to link to that's from this year at least.
Old     (deltaboy)      Join Date: Jan 2007       05-03-2007, 1:21 PM Reply
Rod the power issue doesnt seem to be that much less but it is just enough to cut the RPM's down a bit with the new prop. I think the new silencers will get it right. Besides I'm probably being overly particular about it. It not often I go WOT. But I will say with 5 in the boat with full ballast the hole shot is no problem with the stock prop.

Nothing gheto about these boats, we have the same issue with people wanting to check it out. Everyone I have seen out has been positive, especially some of my neighbors who are high up at Malibu and Calabria. A lot easier to hate passively here on WW than in person though. These boats look sick on the water though.

Along the the opinion issue, have demo'd and been very dissappointed with several boats that have been talked up quite a bit on WW. Nice that you guys are thrilled with your boats, but it is easy to understand why some here are less than excited about this boat...

I agree Tackleberry and its a good point. I too demo'd quite a bit and was dissapointed. I just think if you are spending the money that these boats go for now days you better get exactly what you want and how you want it. It just all lined up for me with this boat. Not one boat is for everyone.

I've seen the Wakecraft in person and it's a solid boat. This coming from someone who grew up on the water and has owned three of their own.
Okay, I'm done. Beautiful boats, guys!

OMG Matt. I make an insane amount of money to do what I do. But hey if you are going to pay me what I want then so be it. I'm 1 1/2 hours from the beach (Carmel Monterey) and Im 1 1/2 from our cabin (Dorington). If I wanted I could go snow skiing for about an hour or two, drive home put the boat in the lake for an hour or two (without a wetsuit water temp 77) pull the boat out then head to the beach and chill for another couple of hours and maybe even get 9 in at Pebble if Im lucky.

Just to piss you off Matt maybe I'll buy a Mastercraft with all the referrals I make for Wakecrafts.

Heads up with the Mexicraft statement since a lot of those guys building all our boats probably make as much if not more than you do.

By the way I doubt I pay any more %age wise than you do for my properties. 1% I think.

ducky, why can't you keep these posts positive and factual?

fact: matt, you positively say some lame things.
fact: this post was about someone asking about wakecraft. the original poster was not you, AND you positively do not own a wakecraft, yet you find a way to mention your mastercraft more than once.
fact: you will positively never get to ride in kevins wakecraft, or mexicraft or whatever lame name you called it, because from what you showed us, you are a geektard and kevin sounds like a stand up guy that would positively not want to hang out with you. so he will enjoy his "...good wake..." [Matt (duckguy)Thursday, May 3, 2007 - 10:00am ] without you.

positive AND factual... see, its not too difficult.

Great solid feel, plenty of power nice looking IMO. If you get a chance to ride behind one you should give it a try.

Good lord, what is it with you guys who need to bash on other peoples rides? Is your d!ck really that small? WTF!?

I don't really care for the look of the Wakecrafts myself, but to each his own. What I found interesting was the hull design. It's something that hasn't been talked about much. I looked at it for quite a while at the show this year and it is way different than anything else on the market right now. Kudos to Wakecraft for doing something different.

Rob or Kevin, could you post some pics of the undersides of them things? Specifically the back half of the running surface?

The Wakecraft guys at the show were really proud of their boats and they should be. It's a tough market to get into, especially with little d!ck, butt plugging haters around every corner.

Ok, glad i could start the most contraversial post ever. I can honestly say that if I buy a Wakecraft that I will not be getting the lamo 20" wheels on the trailer. I just want a good boat for a good price, no gimics, no overpaid lying salesman, just a sick wake and reliable tow vehicle. By the way I think the bling is for the middle age group, not the youngsters. Thank you guys for always having a full spectrum of opinions.

You boys gotta quit worrying bout little pric*s like matt. You bought the wakecraft because it's unique/different and You thought it was the best boat out there for you. You didn't buy it hoping to impress dudes that buy boats the size of a dingy did you?? ignore the comments and enjoy your boats. which by the way look amazing. post some more pics of your water wagons and the wakes. I'm going to put mine in the water for the first time tomorrow as well.

Come on guys.. dont Let Matt (Duckguy) get your panties in a knot. Have you seen his so-called Mastercraft. It is the entry level model. Single axle trailer etc... Its nothing special. I guess if name brand is important to you... then you will do what you have to do to have the name Mastercraft on the side of your boat. I personally... would have just bought the decal... the only problem.. is the X-Star decal is way too big for my little car-topper aluminum boat.

What I truly enjoy about this sport... is that you see the people who are out on the lake for the love of the sport and those who are out there to be seen.

I appreciate nothing more than when I see a 16ft Bayliner... with a homemade tower and some Rubbermaid Containers Full of water and sand... and I guy riding doing every trick in the book... and then later that day.. you see one of the Fancy Blingier Boats being towed in because the battery is dead.. or ran out of gas... etc...

I can honestly say... I love all the boats that come up with innovative style and ideas... May not be for everyone... but appeals to some... Buy and own or use what you like... and spend time riding.. rather than bashing others.

If money was no object.. I would either buy every boat I liked on the market for different reasons... or build my own... There isn't just one that fits the bill for everything I look for in a boat...

Enjoy the boats! Ride hard!

the boat has some cool features but overall the lines just don't look good to me, i don't care for the swim deck and the logo on the side of the boat is horrible!
