I've actually been wondering ever since best trick how this didn't come up... you do realize this is the same trick submitted for 2010 Move of the year right?... He landed it off the dub at Parks DoN but the one shown in this thread and the first one here: http://wakeboardingmag.com/videos/20...e-year-videos/ are the same.

I've been wondering for a while how everyone wasn't freaking out after Move of the Year that he did this trick w2w... just nuts.
Old     (andy_nintzel)      Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Minnesnowda       01-24-2011, 2:49 PM Reply
I knew he landed it before.
Old     (jarrod)      Join Date: May 2003       01-24-2011, 3:25 PM Reply
You knew he landed it without the double up?
Old     (xmcmillenx)      Join Date: May 2006       01-24-2011, 4:41 PM Reply

Great rider and a beautiful move.

But I must admit my ignorance as I do not understand why that is not an off axis 9?
Old     (bbr)      Join Date: Apr 2002       01-24-2011, 6:46 PM Reply
^^^ Because he only rotates a 720.^^^

LOL.

I thought he landed after 2.5 turns on his toe edge and surface 180s back to HS. But on second look I can see he gets to his HS edge. That gave him 3 rotations. So an OA 1080!

After looking at the clip again, what I thought was his first 3 OA had no handle pass and is the roll part of the trick.

Guys I'm going to have to be the smartass here. You really think Harley wouldn't know what to call the trick????

Subtract that last 360 from the trick and you have a back mobe. It's as easy as that. Harley has obviously learned it from the mobe to the mobe 5 and now the mobe 7.
Old     (eubanks01)      Join Date: Jun 2001       01-25-2011, 10:29 AM Reply
I say heelside mobius 3. It's not like you call a regular HS mobe a mobe 3 right so why call this a mobe 7?! The term "mobe" or "mobius" implies a 360 rotation already so a "mobe 3" would be the most sensible name for Harley's trick End of discussion.

Wow... the hammers just keep falling! That's awesome man! There seems to be a few different camps on how Mobe based tricks should/are named. I personally find a trick such as Harley's perfectly described by the name Back Mobe 7. To me, a Mobius defines a flip with a 360+ degree spin, so a Mobe 7 simply indicates a flip with a 720 degree spin. Nobody says "I did a Mobe 3" because the 3 is in the definition. Long live the Mobe 7.
Old     (eubanks01)      Join Date: Jun 2001       01-25-2011, 10:56 AM Reply
Mobe 7 by literal definition is a mobe (HS backroll with a FS 3) plus a 7. That would imply a backroll plus a 1080 rotoation. This is a backroll with a 720 rotation. I say Mobe 3.

Just trying to stir the pot a bit.

I am only joking because it seems like the argument always gets started. Especially with new tricks from Phil.

Congrats on the Mobe 7. That is RIDICULOUS!

I can't view it. I'm getting the "This video either has been removed from Facebook or is not visible due to privacy settings." message. I thought maybe it was cuz I'm friendless on facebook but I tried under my wifes account and got the same message. If anyone knows why, I'd appreciate it. I'd like to see this sick move. Props to Harley!
