whats the best format to save video. i saved a video in the windows media player format. and its supper blury. but while editing it. and the adobe premiere elements format. its WAY cleaner. you can actually make out details.

what format do you recommend for highest quality that vimeo supports?

What cam did you shoot that with? Did the vid look OK until you posted it on vimeo?

Vimeo's website has some guidelines to help you compress your videos.

It all depends on if you want to keep good video quality or get a smaller file size. WMV really isn't that great of codec, generally. I would recommend MPEG-4, .mov or h.264. You really just have to play around with various codecs and quality settings. What program did you use to compress your video?

im not sure what camera it is. but its like a 10 year sony handycam. and the video was a little better when i watched it on the WMV format on my computer before i uploaded it to vimeo. but before i re formatted it. it was 10x times better. you could actually make details out. when you play it directly from the camera. you can put it on a 50 inch TV and still not be blury like online.
so i should try re saving it as mpeg-4? and it should look a little better? im not expecting high def or anything. but it would be nice being able to get some detail
