Chase Boat Day - Long Video

Ok guys, here is our compilation from Saturday. It has Danny's set right up to 'the' fall. Also Mark, Shon, Myself and Brodie.

I really wanted to spend more time....but Brodie and Mark BLEW ME UP all nite and morning telling me to post it.

So, my disclaimers..... before you flame my skills. hahaha

1) Editing video with an 18 mo girl on your lap who thinks she is better with a mouse than you is difficult. Add in a 6 year old boy saying Daddy Daddy DADDY and its almost impossible.
2) I didn't realize how many film-transitions iMovie adds using that them. I even went back and deleted a bunch, and they are still way to frequent. Apologies
3) I didn't learn to mute the sound on slow-mo til the later riders.....and I had no time to go back. I really wanted to lay down some music over the top too.
4)Chase-filming is way harder than you would think. Even though your rider is jumping the wake, he makes enough of a cut that right when he lands the boat crosses his cut and you get camera wobble. So you got two choices...fade back and focus in, or get up in the grill and deal with it. I chose the latter, because I would rather have a head leave the frame and get the grab(i.e. Danny's glide when we are on the side) than be way back.
5) I'm new.

Looking at that water on a Saturday (!!??) makes me jealous. Good stuff; nice riding. Went out on Friday morning and got bounced around pretty good by some wakesurfers/powerturners/etc.; can't wait for the summer to end so I can start riding my local spot again.

I finally saw it last night...Super stoked on what we pulled off. My adreniline was so charged up when I started... that butter and the buzz I was getting from the crew made it a great set. Here is what I learned though...

1. Mute grabs suck when video is from the back... I need to learn a Melon\nose\tail\stailfish or something for my ts3.

2. video from the side is killer. Those shots of Jarrod's ts3 and toe front and some of Brodie and Danny from the side were the best angle

3. I need to drive better for my camera crew!

Thanks Cheesydog!! I've made a few vids just kind of raw, that was the 1st one I took a little time with. I wanted some slow-mo in spots, and wanted to freeze Shon's stailfish. It didn't really work as intended,(it 'skipped') but you got the picture. Wish I had more time to spend doing some fun effects. Maybe next time.

Its cool seeing vid from other spots than the boat, and getting a few of the landmarks of the area. Not to mention seeing swim platforms under water and boat graphics below the water line!! hahaha

Shon, you in the shop manana. 3100lbs isn't enough....I need lead.

Looked like fun! Bummed I missed it, well not really cause I was in Vegas doing naughty things!

Thanks Lucho. The song was by 'Celph Titled - The Gatalog: A Collection of Chaos'. Brodie had a 4 disc set and that was one of the songs. They are all dope.

Hey Jarrod, yea a friend of mine is really into wake vids, slow mo never works, ie u get that skipping unless you have an ultra fast fps camera or u can use a program called optical flow, I believe. Ive seen him use that and u can get some decent slow mo without the skipping, what it does is calculate the missing frames and add them in.
