Anyone going to be riding the next few days in Ohio? Water temps on the smaller lakes around Akron have been in the Mid 40's (I think) with the air going to be mid 60's low 70's and sunny?

I'm contemplating getting out, but only got a 3/2 full suit.. Damn that's gonna be cold...

do bears "poo" in the woods?

Water temps in Columbus were low 50's last week, but will probably be back down to the higher 40's given the recent cold nights. Hopefully we'll be able to get out and hit it again in the next day or so.

This is the first year that I will not be getting out in April. I am currently in Europe for work and I will not be able to get out. The earliest we went out was April 7th that was the day the ice melted. Enjoy your riding I will be playing catch up when I get back to the States in June.

Ya I hate riding when it's cold, but there is no other way to do it unless you want to wait until late May or June. For someone who enjoys the water, I kick myself in the A$$ every winter around here. I'm trying to convince my buddy to drag his boat out tomorrow for a quick set or two.... Doubt it's going to happen though.

I have seen at least 3 riders on our lake. Two with no wetsuits at all. Dayton area.

Funny, i was about to start a post like this too. i'm heading out for first time this season today. If air + water temp is 100 or greater, I'm out there.

Sup man, long time no see. I remember you were headed down to TN or KY or something for a vacation with you buddies and we didn't see any more of you out.

We (Me, Matt, and Mike) rode the hell out of Springfield last year. Mike was the one who lived on the water 2 doors down from your buddy with the monster tower on the I/O.

I'm headed over to the "Crush The Ice" wakeboard thing in Angola, IN on May 10th. Probably going to camp the weekend. It looks like a good time to get some early riding in behind some competition grade boats.

Look us up, I'm sure we will be out every weekend like and evenings like last year.

Ed you beat me to it, was going to mention that tomorrow will be trip number 3 for me. BTW if you free tomorrow after work Ill be getting wet at 5:30. No surfing just boarding, I have not gotten the boat set to surf yet.

But I am going to have to cause my daughter has been asking me when she can surf again.

PS, had No Wake redo the steering system in the boat and now it drives like a dream, so much so I am thinking the teal Bu may have another season let in her before the new VLX gets ordered.

George, what lake will you be riding on? I think I can make it.

I could use a third for Saturday?

Tomorrow I'm going south of town in the AM to buy some 6"x4'x8' EPS foam billets. I got myself in to another surf board building competition. This one benefits the ACS. I think I'm going to build two. One the competition in Texas and another for the Crush the Ice For Life event. A spent something like $110 for the long board blank and about $75 for the short board blank. Add another $120 or so for shipping. The EPS foam billets cost about $37 and I can get three to four boards per blank. And there’s no shipping fees.

Hey guys I distribute a crew email with about 40 wakeboarders on it. We ride in the Columbus area. Let me know if your interested.

I've made a pretty hard switch from wake boarding to wakesurfing. So if you ride with my crew plan on surfing or learning to surf. I do wake board but once we rig for surfing we pretty much stick with surfing. Other guys like George wakeboard. You might get a chance to hook up with other crews on my email

I have been riding out at Caesars Creek ( just south west of Dayton) for a couple of weeks now. Went out with some friend's last night air temp 67 water mid 50's.

slob02, Where do you usually ride at?

Mike K, I've rode out there a few times before I sold my boat. West Branch and Lake Milton are descent but do get busy during the summer.

Indiana waters are mid 40's, air high 60's to 70, been going out all week in a full. Toes and hands are the only problems.

Jeremy, if your still near the area, Waters Edge boardshop just started putting on a little wakeboard competition last summer out at Milton. Nothing major, but its a good time. I believe it is the only wakeboard comp in northeast OH

slob02,
I noticed you are on the list to receive the Murray 140. When you get it you should come down to Caesars Creek and ride with us. I would love to give the board a try as well as a couple other friend's. I have my name on the list just not on the map. You would be more then welcome on my boat.

From Akron here but never rode the BIG LAKE E. Everytime I see that place there is 2-3' chop? How you ever ride it? Are there times in the a.m. that it's flat?
Old     (wakebrdjay)      Join Date: Apr 2008       04-20-2008, 8:17 AM Reply
Yeah A.M. is best ,but you can get some flat water behind the breakwall alot of times just depends on the wind and forget about weekends.I live in Cleveland so I ride Erie when I can and try to take weekend trips for better water. But when the big lake is flat theres nothing like being able to ride for for as long as you can without having to turn around! You gotta work with what you got if you have the love!

I'm from Cleveland but ride mostly at Chautauqua Lake (hence the CHQ) in my name. I have been to West Branch a few times though during late spring. If your going out in the coming weeks, pm me if you would like a 3rd. I'll pitch in for some gas too.

I know Caesars well but don't ride it. Some guys that live at Shawnee Lake go down there a lot and foot. I mainly ride at Shawnee Lake because it is a private lake so there is never a crown and always good water. If and when I get the board, getting together would be great!! Either place!

Jeremy, not OH, IL. We have family in Medina, Parma, Cleveland, etc. Once in awhile we bring the boat, but we usually run New Berlin because my cousin's wife's family has a place there. We are open to options if anyone has a better idea.

This comming weekend a bunch of us are wake surfing at Lake Norris, TN.

We have to get together at an Ohio Lake some time this season. Meet, greet, ride, and maybe some grilling.

SHOW,

I'm down for a Ohio meet and greet! Somewhere centrally located such as columbus is feasible for most in the state. Camp, Ride, Grill, hang out. Who knows, it might help beef up the sport here in OH. I'd be glad to help organize and support such event.....

JEREMY
