Ben, yes they shut off. I'm an EE and I could to re-do the system for him but he paid over $3k for a couple amps, a single Rubicon 450, and a ported 12" sub. so I think they should fix it for him. Last time out, he told me they were going out on his boat to get it fixed. I did look around long enough to see what the problem is. The amp mounting location was very poor, in the bottom of the bow storage where they get no air circulation and they are subject to getting wet. It's the same space where he puts waterskis and wakeboards in excess of the tower's capacity. The power wiring used is borderline too small contributing to the heat issues. The sub was phase cancelling the stock sub until I tuned it. After spending about an hour tweaking the system it sounded 100% better than it did when he picked up the boat. I was able to help mitigate some of the amplifier shutoff issues by adjusting the gains.
