Edging simply means leaning on your heels if you're edging heelside or your toes if you're edging toeside. As you do, the "edge" of the board digs into the water and you will turn in the direction you are "edging".

If you approaching the wake toe side, you want your weight more on your toes, you are edging into the wake with your heel edge out of the water and your toe side edge in the water. Your toe side edge will be furthest from the boat.

so wait your saying if your front is facing the boat you want to put your wieght onyour toes when your approaching the wake? it seems like you would want to put it on your heels to gain more speed. Mabey im wrong im new to the sport.
P.s. explain it to me like you would explain it to a 3rd grader because some of this stuff is confusing if your new.

OK, picture what I said above if you are riding left foot forward. If you are approaching the wake toe side, it will be towards your right shoulder. At any rate, the back edge of the board should be in the water, the front edge closest to the boat should be up out of the water. Just watch a video and you'll get it.
