How you do it ,and how long did it take you to heal? What did you do to heal?

I was walking around a corner and step in a puddle of water, and did the splits Big time,I didn't pull my Groin ,I tore it.

It took 2 1/2 years to go away, stayed off my feet as much as passable ,Hot tub then Ice

Then I was out of pain 3 weeks and junior snuzzed, and I jumped out of the way of his SUV and Retore the Groin,

I tore mine doing the Insanity workout a few years back. It was out of wack for well over a year. The injury sidelined my quest for another invert on the wakeboard.
I started doing a ton of surfing after that and haven't put the same energy into boarding since.

That leg is still tighter than the other one

There wasn't much that I could do. The tear was so deep that even my massage therapist wife couldn't do much for it.

but, I'm an old dude. I think that I was 45 when that happened. Good luck with it ! I know that I do a ton more stretching and warming up now before i do anything physical....
