Hey All,
Shred Ready has the old Phly on closeout if anyone is interested...

They have several other deals too, just click the previous prodcut button below the picture. I bought the orange Phly helmet so I don't get run over this year at the circus I call my home lake!

I've been looking for a new helmet, what does everyone think of these? Right now the one I have is really bulky and I want one that is slimmer. Are these comfertable and worth the money?

I haven't used one yet, but I have tried it on at the store. They don't have sizes like other helmets, instead they come with tons of inserts and you basically just mix and match them until it fits they way you want it. The H.O.G. Lock Retention System (it's misspelled on that site) holds awesome! It locks around the base of back of your skull and fits very securely but is also very comfortable. I got the orange one so that everyone can see me when I fall. Everything that I have heard about Shred Ready has been good. Patrick has been very good in working with me too. They did discontinue the Phly since no one was buying it. Everyone recommends the Super Scrappy, but I like the Phly.

Ya I was going through the site and noticed the super scrappy. I'm thinking I'm going to look into them.

I've been riding with the Super Scrappy for about a year and like it just fine. The inserts definietly help to create a custom fit. Those along with the H.O.G. system lock the helmet on snug with zero movement during falls.

Some feel that the bill on the scrappy will lend itself to a "bucketing" effect during a fall. However, In the last year I have taken MANY falls and have never once experienced this. I also wear the helmet with the bill to the rear.

A friend bought the scrappy (plastic one). Personally, I wished I would have gotten the scrappy over the super scrappy. The plastic helmets offer the same protection as the composite ones, but they are much lighter. They are also quite a bit cheaper as well.
