I am hoping to take my boat up to random lake, WI. but, the spot on the lake where I'll be docking (no boat lift) is pretty thick with weeds.

it this a concern for my prop and or shaft? Or should I just be able to chop through it and go right through?

I know I've seen wake boats on this lake before, I just wonder if they might have been docking somewhere less weedy.

THanks!

If you do get weeds in your prop, put the boat into reverse and the weeds come right off

You may get a few weeds wrapped up in the prop but that is nothing a little hard reverse wont fix. What you do need to worry about it your water intake sucking weeds up and blocking the line causing your boat to overheat

David,

could I safe gaurd against this by simply checking the filter and the raw water intake hose periodically?

I second the reverse idea. You shouldn't notice a performance difference if they rap around your running gear. If you do just stop the boat and run in reverse for a moment. When going through or coming out of this spot keep an eye on the engine temp for a few minutes. If the intake is clogged it will get hot fast. Point being don't be worried about it all day just the first few minutes or so when leaving the weeded area.

I don't think you need to go that far. Just like Craig says and you should be okay.

2nd what Jason said. Happened on my buddies boat the other day after taking in too much hydrilla. On our way in the boat overheated and automatically shut off.
