But seriously congrats, that looks like a beauty.

How does that boat differ from the TWB?

Is it the same except for the pickle fork vs traditional bow?
So, it adds a bit of space but looks a little funny.
Does it cost more $$$?

Do you guys like the swoshy graphics?
They are starting to grow on me a bit.

The F21 and TWB are made from same mold from the drivers area back to the stern. The only difference is the pickle fork bow in the F21 and the gunnels on the TWB are narrower (2" each side) which provides a bigger cabin area.

Both of the boats drive very similar...although the F21 handles a bit better in chop due to the true pickle fork. The TWB offers a traditional bow and more seating...take your pick they are both great boats and the price is the same!

Actually that is my photo that I took for the MB catalog. That is Schwenne, one of his riders and Mike E. at Lake Tulloch.

Congrats on the Boat!

I like those interiors. I have a 2000MB DD and would highly consider getting a Tomcat.

The only thing I didn't really like about the 21Tomcat is I find the seats are low off the floor of the boat and the gunnels aren't the highest either. Most likely due to the tanks in the floor. Otherwise they are nice boats.

So what is the true color of that peanut butter interior. It looks like it has white spots through out. Will MB do custom interior for anyone? I wonder how much it costs for them to do custom like that?

Love the MBs, they look good. Saw em' at the show in Sac and really liked them. That peanut butter interior though reminds me of Grandma's old naugahyde couch and chair, or a 60s-70s jet boat. totally disgusting to me but then it's not my boat.

I don't have photo shop so the best I can do is this hack in paint.

I like an understated boat.

So, I was thinking about coloring the boat down the narrow lines below and above the rub rails.

What do you think?

GD,

I am with you. I love clean, simple designs. And white boats sure are easier to take care of.

Give Mike a call and ask him to build that for you. My guess is that it will take him about 2 seconds to say, "Done!"

Are you thinking F21 or TWB?

I can't wait for you to get an MB.
Old     (diamonddad)      Join Date: Mar 2010       03-29-2010, 3:53 PM Reply
I was thinking the TWB but the F21 is growing on me. I like the bigger bow but I am not found of the pickle. So, I will likely get the TWB.

I enjoyed speaking with Mike at the SAC show. He said he would do most anything I wanted. If anyone has any ideas, I would love to see them.

The pickle fork is where it is at! Maybe I am a little biased.

My kids can lie down in the F21 front end and take a nap. I have to move them over so dad can nap!

My only recommendation to MB is to have an option that you can empty the tanks by pump. I have a 2000 MB and it's the same style as the new ones where you have to be running to drain which can be a pain between sets. The new ones drain a heck of a lot faster then mine will ( 60 Sec) but I still think they need pumps.
Old     (pip9ball)      Join Date: Sep 2009       03-29-2010, 4:45 PM Reply
I was also torn between the TWB and F21. I toured the MB sports factory and sat in both...the TWB feels much bigger inside due to the narrower gunnels. So my vote goes for the TWB! Both boats are amazing though whatever your choice may be!

GD - are you set on a 21' boat? Would you ever consider a 23 footer?

Mario - I am super stoked about your new F21. I was not a fan of the pickle fork design when I first saw them... but they have grown on me big time. I really like this one from the Sac boat show. I'm not typically a fan of the swoosh pattern either, but for some reason this boat really caught my eye.

I am totally not a 23' boat guy. Not in the least. I optimize for the core which is 4 or 5 people in the boat.

This is the boat I was able to "test" fit 4 others plus my family in. Mike Brendel told me to load it up! i really didn't want to get out. The black F23 they had on the other side reminded me of the Batmobile.

Here's the above boat without the forward swoosh. I kind of like it.

that does look cool. Going with the simpler theme, wonder what it would look like if you removed the blue and black swooshes from the back and just kept the matching white ones. Or even removed them all together and had just the white front and grey base. I do like the white one you did above though, that is sweet.
Old     (diamonddad)      Join Date: Mar 2010       03-31-2010, 10:18 AM Reply
I was thinking that all 4 of the rear swooshes would want to be white and that would look great.
I also like the white with gray or black darts above. I will have to get someone with photoshop to do it nicely for me.

MBs are great boats, I just don't like the gelcoat and vinyl styles on them. They were in our top 4 when we looked at boats last summer

^^^ That is a tired / invalid complaint. You can order these boats up any way you choose. Look at mine... any offensive gel coat there? Shoot, you can make you your own design in Photoshop and they will make it for you.
Old     (alans)      Join Date: Aug 2005       03-31-2010, 11:34 AM Reply
If I had a nickle for every time I heard that, I could probably pay for a tank of gas in my MB! MB not only can make solid color boats and apply stickers or wraps, like everyone else in the industry. They can do custom gel coat! I am so tempted to order this for my next MB, if not only to honor the hard work that MB puts into their boats.

BTW, did you guys know that a lot of the graphics on the MB's continue under the hull?

Don't get offended, it's a valid complaint because it's my opinion. Yes you can get it in flat colors, but the boats we saw were ugly, and my wife wouldn't give them a second chance.

That is a nice pattern scheme there.
