We had some fun with the GoPro this past weekend. My buddy mounted it on a ski pole and hung it over the side of the boat for some cool angles and stuff. We're still beginner surfers so it might be boring for you pro riders....the big excitement for me was finally doing a 360 in the video which some say should count but not in a contest.

Here's the setup:

Here's how you do use it...if you have a size 14 foot and a long leg, maybe you don't and your video will suck but I can't control that

I used duct tape after seeing this on TO.com. Gotta get that go-pro out, though.

Yeah, that fish-eye lens is the key Jeff! Your videos will be much more exciting to watch then ours though! Bust that sucker out and get some footage!

I used the motorsports suction mount on the transom (but forgot to compensate for bow rise, duh)

I like that view too!
I have a stickypod that I used to use for car racing and we were going to try that out but we went with the ski pole and couldn't be happier!

Yeah, I've got one of those painter's extension poles (like you'd put a roller on to paint an extra high wall), and it's all set up with my mount on it and everything. Given the angle you got with the ski pole I'd bet I could get some pretty sweet views. Problem is it's usually just me, the wife and two kids, and my kids aren't competent to do the camera work. Need a buddy along for that too.
