Okay, So i was at the local boardshop and i was looking at an 07 CWB Pure with 07 torq bindings for 330 bucks. I've already tried on the torq bindings and LOVE them but im wondering about the board. Anyone riden one? Im looking for something with more pop than my current board (not saying much) im looking to progress alot this summer. Im currently riding an 06 liquid force evo with alpha bindings, like i said. I want a better setup. Thanks for the help.

I dont know if you know who Jeff House is, but he is a CWB team rider and thats what he rides and I was talking to him about it and he said he loves it. He said the pop is awesome and it has pretty soft landings 2. So I dont think you can go wrong with that board

I believe the Pure used to be the '04 Absolute. Not sure about any changes to the '07 design.

House also rides the Kink. The Kink and the Pure are 2003 and 2004 Absolutes with a new shape and a new top sheet design. They are pretty much the same board on the bottom. It's a 3-stage rocker board with decent speed and soft landings. I rode both shapes for years and loved them. Great board. Can't go wrong.

That's a good price also

Dustin,

I rode my brother in law's Pure earlier this month. Great without fins for surface tricks and good pop, edges well. I give it a thumbs up!

I rode the '06 all year last year. The '07 was mildly re-shaped, but I absolutely loved that board. Fast, great pop and easily tuned for your skill level by changing fins or riding finless.

Get it and have fun.

I have that exact set up.. i'm pretty new to the sport so i cant compare the board to any others, but the bindings squeeze the hell out of my heel and hurt after about 20 minutes.

I ride the 06 and love it as well.

C.R. - sounds like it's time to use the beer bottle under the front of the binding trick to stretch them a bit. (just an idea...)

C.R. you can adjust the tightness of the hinge on your heel with the torq bindings, its an easy fix!

I've never had a pair of bindings fit me right out of the box. Everyone's foot is different.

What exactly is different from 06 to 07? The Kink is the same shape as the 05 06 Pure Right? (or older absolutes).

I havent seen the 07 pure yet, so I was curious.

On that note I am pretty excited to check out the 144 Faction since I am a big dude, anyone rode it that can compare it to my beloved shape?

Pretty much.

03 Absolute = 05-06 Pure = 07 Pure
04 Absolute = 05-06 Flame = 07 Kink

In 2007 these boards got new top sheets and shapes (tips and tail). In the process of creating the new mold, subtle changes happened to the base, like molded fins being slighty less sharp. It's really insignificant.

I haven't ridden the Faction. I heard it rides very tight on the water. Probably not your style unless you make it work with smaller fins.

oops...in 04 the 03 lute became the 04 Flame also.

thanks for the suggestions guys... (sorry for the thread hijack) the instructions said they come adjusted already from the factory. BUT the left binding will unlatch easily.. the right one is almost impossible to unlatch... i just end up yanking my foot out and then unlatching it.. which hurts, which is why i stopped using them. i'll have to look at them closer and see where to adjust them... anybody done it already, and is it easy/ require any special tools?

The hinge needs to be unscrewed at the base of the hinge and screwed a little tighter. Now, I hope you are talking about the Torq's that are hinged????

Remove the screws that mount the cable to the base of the boot. You can adjust the "thingy" in or out to loosen or tighten the tension of the cable.

I was at the CWB demo today at Lake Elsinore and I rode the Pure with some Deuce bindings and it was a really nice ride. I actually rode Jeff House's personal setup.

Good ride. Good board. I would recommend it, especially at that price.
