ok i'm getting a new boat and i've demoed them both and there are things i like about both so i can't decide the boats an a 06 mobius LSV and a brand new 05 Mobius XLV

the XLV is bigger which is good and bad
the LSV is a 06 model so it has a few nicer things on it

i've surfed behind both and they both have amazing wakes. i like that the XLV is bigger but do i really need the bigger boat?

what would you guys pick?

Personally, I would go with the 05 XLV. I own an 04 XLV so I might be a little biased here. You said that the 06 LSV has a few nicer things in it. Like what? I don't think they added anything to the LSV over the XLV. With the XLV you get the in floor cooler, the seat back behind the driver, the drop in cooler area for a 40qt. cooler and obviously it's bigger. The new LSV is based on the XLV, just smaller and without the things I mentioned earlier.

The draw back to the XLV is due to it's size storing it in a garage is much more difficult. I don't know if you are planning on storing your boat in a garage or not, but it's something to consider. Besides that and what the price difference is, I would take the XLV!

the lsv since it's an 06 has nicer vinyl interior and better speakers and it's a brand new hull design, ez cruise (which doesn't really matter cause i'm getting PP) and new dash

the price isn't an issue

well the garage in my new house is exactly 23' deep so i will have to get creative to fit the XLV in there :-)

Entrust- The 06 and the 05's have the exact same vinyl. Moomba made the change to their current vinyl in 04. As for hull design, the XLV is a new hull design as of 2004. I don't think the hull design is any better on the LSV over the XLV. The key to a wake is how fast the hull sinks in the water. The XLV sinks pretty fast for it's size due to a step in the hull in the latter half of the boat. My XLV throws a monsterous wake. And as for the dash, it's the exact same in the XLV's as in the LSV's. They did make a few minor cosmetic changes that I personally don't like. But Moomba has had that dash design since 2003 I think. I don't know anything about the EZ cruise, I just learned about it a few weeks ago. What's it's value? I see you're going to get PP, is this EZ cruise not as good? Is it more equivalent to PP cruise?

As for the depth of your garage, looks like the XLV would be a tight fit. Given that sounds like your garage has made your choice for ya! Good Luck and I hope you enjoy your Moomba as much as I have mine!!

23 LSV......best surf wake hands down. The wake is unmatched when weighted properly.

THe wakeboarding wake is a solid ramp that will toss you. The new cruise kicks butt....it is easier to use than PP, there is no more running over speed only to wait for it, amd the display is crystal clear with big righting and a indeglow face.

Have you looked at the 247?

Oh yeah....you can't get Perfect Pass on the 2006 VLX (at least I don't think so)

Malibu uses Precision Pro now due to the Throttle by wire.

Rich- Ummm.......Wrong LSV. Entrust was referring to the Moomba LSV and the Moomba XLV. Not to say that the Malibu isn't an incredible boat though! I love the dash in that last pic.

Ahhhhh, crap......you would think that with 26 letters in the alphabet, one could combine 3 that are unique.

Sure you don't want a Bu?

Kraig, Moomba has updated the Vinyl for '06. I checked out the 06's at the boat show here in Sept. They have a textured vinyl that they are using now. Maybe a little thicker. IMO I would rather the vinyl that I have in my '05 XLV. Easier to clean. They also did a lot more with colored piping. Looks real sharp.

Entrust, you are right about the speakers. I lost the crappy stock speakers that came in my '05 already! Good luck with the garage. That will be your decision maker... If you look at the XLV wiht the tounge folded you are still goona be closer to 24' as the trailer sticks out in from of the boat a bit and you still have the wakeplate in the back that is not accounted for in the 23'...

Either way, you will enjoy... We love our XLV.

yeah it turns out the XLV is 24' with the tongue folded in and the wakeplate. so it's not looking like it will fit in the garage unless i turn it sideways. a guy i work with has a 1000 sq ft garage and will let me store it in there for $50 a month, so that's an option too, i just don't really wanna keep it outside in the winter

I am with you on keeping it outside... I just took delivery of two custom made swing out carriage doors to expand the opeing on my boat garage to get the XLV in there.

I cannot imagine leaving my boat outside. I know that it is a must for some but it would kill me. It has killed me to leave it out for the 4 months since we bought it.

One reason that we bought the XLV, we were upgrading from an older model 18' boat. We did not want to go to something that would run us low on space in a few years with kids and friends all coming out etc. We figured that we have a boat that is big now but we won't have to upgrade in a few years again due to size.

The Piture at the top is Chris Wynns Camo wakeseter with about 3500 pounds.

The other wake pictures are pure stock Wakesetter 247.

I have an 04 XLV and love it. I turned my garage into a weight room so I keep my boat outside all winter. I cover it with a custom cover and have a 30 foot by 20 foot tarp wrapped around it. I have had no problems doing this. Anyway, I have never ridden in an LSV but I have owned a Pro V also. I can tell yo uone thing, when I have 8-12 people in the boat Im sure glad I have the bigger one.
