I was talking to the Rangers at San V on Friday about the crap floating in the lake. Apparently the city lakes department and water department are concerned about it too, but for much different reasons. The head Ranger said that they plan to block off access to the arms of the lake in order to control the ash/soot/debris washing into the lake.

This means the slalom course will be closed indefinitely.

The good news is that the summer schedule starts May 8 (according to the website) so it's time to start planning SDSVSR2004.

That sucks. Big time.

Why are they concerned about it? Water quality? Will we need to worry about sprouting third arms? Any plans for removal?

Looking forward to SDSVSR and taking my new ACL for a spin
