Who has the best price online to buy 303 in the gallon size? There are a few of us that want to go in on a couple of gallons so where are the deals out there?
Thx

If you buy a gallon, make sure you are going to use it in 6 months or less. My 303 always starts to grow mold in it when it is more then 6 months old. I have been using it for about 8 years now and it always happens. I don't know what is in that stuff that makes it grow mold. I would like to switch brands because of that. I always have to throw out the "old" stuff. My problem is that I don't know what is better (or as good). My old boat seats looked brand new after 10 years.

Hate seems to love the Malco version of the 303.

Is that the PB2 that they make? I was thinking of trying some out...

I thought Malco was a cleaner. Does it protect too (specifically UV protectant)?

Malco is a brand, they sell many different products. The cleaner people were using was the "plastic and leather cleaner". The protectant people were using was apparently the "PB2" stuff. They make many other protectants, and other car detailing products.

Cool I'll look into that.
Hate, did you get that from a local supplier, or did you get it online?

"My 303 always starts to grow mold in it"

What? So will I expect to have mold grown over the winter? I wiped down everything before the cover.

Newty, yeah I got it from the distributor that comes to our dealership. I use the cleaner and protector they're both excellent products.

My boat seats never grow mold over the winter (and I always wipe everything down with 303 before storage). My bottle of 303 always does grow mold. If I take the cap off an older bottle of 303, all these black chunks will be floating around. It comes out of the bottle and onto the seats. This has happened to every bottle I ever purchased (which has been many). The black chunks are never present in a new bottle. I can only guess that it is mold. I have no idea what is in the stuff that causes mold growth.

I'm sure all the WATER in it doesen't help! Although 303 is a proprietary formula and doesen't list water or any other ingredients, most assume it's water based...

I too have been using it for 8 years. I buy 16 oz. bottles and see at the main web site you can buy a gallon for 60 bucks. I don't remember ever seeing mold , but i don't keep a bottle for more then 9 months. Are you talking about the aerospace protector or the cleaner and protector? Maybe try keeping it indoors ...

I wonder how the 303 aerospace would work on gelcoat?

I just went to the main web site and it states it is best to store at room temp..

Sorry to post so many times. The 303 site says it is ok to use on gelcoat. Sunbrella products recomends using 303 fabric protectent after a total cleaning of their products at least once every 5 years. Probibly would be great to use it every year if you store your boat outside.

I am talking about 303 aerospace protectant. I store it indoors in a cabinet in my house. I do use it on my boat cover every year. I think it keeps it from fading. I have tried it on the gel coat and it does not really do much IMO. 303 does not really absorb or stick to the gel coat. It just streaks as you wipe it down and never looks good. Looks great on my seats and cover though.

I have not seen mold in my 303.

I have used it on the gelcoat and it works very well to get a nice shine. It is much less streaky if you mix it 50/50 with water. What I did find was that there were some light streaks with that, but then after one run to the lake, I just wiped it down and the gelcoat looked new.

I put a light coating of 303 on my gelcoat right before I get out on the water. When I go to wipe down at the end of the day, there are no water spots. This is on top of the regular wax job I do in my boat. Seems to work well

I switched from 303 to Babe's seat Saver and have never looked back. No greasy, slimey feel when the vinyl gets wet.

Also 303 on my red gel when it was hot was a pain in the arse to get clear/strek free.

Malco has some great products but trust me you dont want water based unless you have no choice. I belie PB2 is water based. Use one of the ones that isnt water based...
