Stupid question but I have to ask....

Anyone....learning about exhaust.

Have inboard Merc...I am just wondering on the exhaust is it full of water? Muffler full of water?

Just have no clue and I know it is a stupid question. I am taking muffler out, and just bypassing it. Just wondered about keeping water out. Exhaust leaves out top of motor 3' horizontal, then 2' down and 90 degree out the transom then into an FAE.... will all that be full of water?

I think I understand what your asking. But no, it shouldnt be.

Only way there could be water in it is if you killed the motor, then plugged the FAE. In that case the water could only be up the exhaust as far as the boat was under, its about pressures, like how they use a hose with water as a level back in the day. It will prob be moist, but you shouldnt have water pouring out when you disconnect it.

Can i ask why you are bypassing the muffer?
