so Im going out to bullards with a friend who's grandparents have a 08 23 lsv, don't ask why his grandparents do they just do hahah, he doesn't ride too much but he is down to let me weight it down and use it for the couple days so I need help setting it up. It has a power wedge and stock 3 tank ballast, I have 3 350# sacks, 1 700# 2 250#, where should I put them and what speed and line length would be ideal? I want to ride around 80-85 which I don't see to be a problem with 3000 pounds plus wedge. and also how does the speed control work on bu's? hahah I don't get to ride behind bu's much so I want to make use of my time with it lol, thanks ahead of time

Depends on engine. 3k on an lsv with monsoon will probably not get on plane. I had a tough time with 3k in a vlx w/ stock prop and monsoon.
350's in the rear lockers
350 in the bow walkway
700 on top of that
and the 2 250's on the floor in the middle.
At least 25mph if you are riding 85ft.
No wedge you should get on plane with a stock prop monsoon on an lsv.

OR

350's in the lockers
700 in the center
350 in the bow walkway
250's on top in the bow.

But this is less likely to get on plane.

I agree with eyekahn's 2nd suggestion.

I have an 09 w/ the bow ballast (350 lbs) and this is how I had it sacked out the other day. The wake was fantastic!

We had all of the stock ballast full with 450's in the rear lockers and a 750 in the bow walkway. Start with the power wedge all the way down and then when on plane bump it up a little bit. (Autowedge feature on 09's) 3,000 total ballast with 350 Monsoon and stock 537 prop.

With your sacks:
350's in the lockers
350 under the bow filler cushion
700 in the bow walkway butted up against the 350
Maybe put a 250 on the floor in the back center.
Start with the power wedge all the way down and then when on plane bump it up a little bit.

Can't go wrong with the setups listed above. We have an 05 that unfortunately doesn't have the power wedge. I've normally been riding at 70 ft cause the wake is pretty wide but last weekend we had this set up...

Full stock tanks - 1250 lbs
Bag in walkway - 400 lbs
Sand in midship - 300 lbs
Bags above tanks in back - 500 each
Wedge locked down

Total approx 3000lbs plus 4 adults

I rode at 80ft and the wake was money. I realize I REALLY need to prop up to the Acme 1235 cause it struggled to plane out. Now I just want to keep adding more, its an addiction...

Try some of the listed configurations and get ready to have some fun.

We ride with the stock MLS system full, 383 engine and the wedge all the way down and about 6-8 people in the boat and the wake is sick.... I bought the boat used and some of the guys that ride with us think he had bigger ballasts added at the factory. we don't use any extra weight at all.

thanks guys, Im pretty sure they have an upgraded engine or at least prop, but I'm not 100% on that but I have a few days with the boat before the trip I found out today so I will try out your suggestions then, and I usually ride 26 so I guess speed shouldn't be a problem, thanks again guys hopefully it will be a boost filled trip!

The 08 I ride on has the 3 tank stock, we add 750's in the lockers plus another 400lbs in the nose. You're not going to get that thing up with the stock 537 acme though. We run the 1235 and she's still a bit slow out of the hole. The wake is pretty wide. I was running 75 at 24mph.

try all the stock stuff with 350 across the back seat and maybe 350 more in the walk way and I bet you will be happy enough. Especially with the stock prop and the 340.
