Here's my idea for an improved and easy to make swim step for surf boats. It's made from 2 pieces of 3/4" Oak veneer plywood glued together and coated with Rhino liner minus the texture. It's 2" narrower at it's widest point and 4" on the narrow end. Because it is flat there is also no lip underneath making for a nice clean wave.

The notch on the Starboard is for a Sky Ski allowing the rider to 'strap in' before getting in.

Pad was custom ordered from Seadek.

While it seems kind of 'hillbilly', it looks good, will never rot, crack or dry out and is almost indestructible.

Don't think it looks hillbilly at all. What ever works for what you need and is done well which I think you have. Good idea for the sky ski knock out as well.
