Just picked up an off camera flash cord. For $50 it is a pretty cool tool for closeups, macro, etc. Not a great pic, but I took it over lunch in a hurry. Flash was to the left about 90° from camera-subject line:

Nice shot!

A great accessory to go along with that flash cord is the Wimberly macro bracket. It allows you to position your flash at just about any angle.

I started taking macro shots of bugs a while back until my wife saw them on the computer and threatened to tell all of our friends! Just another facet of photography which has it's own set of rules to learn.
