I keep hearing that a listed boat is a lot better on fuel economy than a surf system boat that has you load up all your ballast such as surf gate. One, is this true? If so, How many gph are you saving by doing this? I am looking at going all out with a fs33 or a axis T22. I know they are on different spectrums but for looks and performance It will be one or the other based on how much I feel like spending. People keep telling me though with the surf gate you just suck down fuel from surfing and will be going back and forth from the fuel pump every 4 hours. They say you can almost get a full day listing a boat like a centurion. Thanks for your advice guys!

Robert / Ragboy hasnt uploaded this video to his Youtube Channel yet so I cant embed it here, but on his facebook recently uploaded this video of his 2015 Tige Z3 and the fuel consumption thus far after 70 hours.

https://www.facebook.com/wake9surf/v...1060680640115/

For those who cant view or dont want to watch the video, the short version is 70 hours, 250 gallons and 3.5GPH fuel consumption.

You can get a full day on the T22, but the biggest piece to that puzzle is the motor, prop and not using the wedge. Ditch the wedge and run some addiontal water weight in the walkway and that wave gets even better while brining the RPMS back into the 3600-3800 range. The T22 is a GREAT boat for surfing, wakeboarding and just having fun on the water.

Thats pretty dang impressive! I wish more people like robert and rag boy did test like this.

So what motor and prop do you recommend on the T22 if I went that direction?

Here you go:

And here is our kept up to date fuel log:

http://bit.ly/z3-gas

So far, I haven't seen a weighted level wake that is of competition size that can do it as efficiently as listing. Add to that the extra efficiency the tige hull seems to have had for years, and its truly amazing how efficient it can be.

We switch side to side in under 3 mins, the only thing we miss out on is transfer tricks, but nobody I know is dying to do those.

I have had 2 - MC X30 GEN1 (listed) and GEN2 (non listed)
While Surfing.with Identical Ballast, the Fuel Numbers were Negligible..

I would not let FUEL numbers between 2 Boats get in the Way of your Purchase...
The GAP between the 2 Boats in a given season will NEVER compare to other cost on owning a Boat.

Yes it would be nice....but not worth a compromise on what you Want to ride in.

If you are competing with fs33 why aren't you considering the t23? While I can't find many t23 wave pictures hearsay says it's bigger than t22

T22 is meh compared to the FS33. The centurion kills it! I went with a 2015 Tige Z3 with AVX and am quite impressed with it. It needs more weight than factory (bigger bags and a touch of lead in the corners if you are running an empty boat) but its a great great wave!

The Centurion FS33 is fantastic right out of the box...nothing required...amazing!

Just test drive it first, I have never heard a complaint about the wake, but they can be loud and uncomfortable due to lots of list. If you ride in them and that doesn't bother you, then get it, cuz the wake is a great wake on both sides.

My 12 MB with a PCM has a idle blow by above the water line and screams when in the throttle and it's not that bad so the FS has to be better lol

I have a 2014 a 20 with surfgate(easier to sink the smaller boat and cheaper). Plenty of room as well. I have 2450 in sacks and 800 on board and almost 400 in fuel. I have the 330hp and the high altitude prop( the real trick to pull this off and probably improve fuel economy on starts). I have never gone past 1/2 tank on a full day with other people in the boat. typically it is only my wife, so my normal load is only the water, fuel and boat equipment. You will not be running to the fuel pump. I admit i do burn non ethanol premium, which may slightly improve my consumption. My wave is huge, but not long because I need more than the 950 front bag to lengthen the wave. My boat is extremely economical but is the smaller version. the a22 i looked at was very big compared to my 20.

Love my axis 49500 plus 5000 for tandem galvanized painted trailer with rims.

We didn't surf long yesterday but for grins I did an rpm check. Regular side with surf gate 2200-2400 lbs 11.5 we were 3200-3250 rpm. Goofy side with 1300-1500 lbs listed at 11.5 we were 3050-3100 rpm. Rpm based close but listed doesn't take as much to get moving so yes I could save some fuel but not enough to not list because my pocket is on point slammed with gates.
