Anyone know how they compare as far as being true to size and flotation? I use the Outlaw now, but it's pretty hammered. Thanks.

The gooru floats you a little bit. I do have to say that if you crash hard enough, it can rip off you completely. Thank goodness it was tied to my boardshorts. Ha ha (Message edited by dperizzolo on June 09, 2009)

The Outlaw vest will make you win every tournament you enter as an outlaw. The Gooru will make you only a wakeboard Gooru so you will prolly be asked to judge contests not ride in them.

That's sum funny stuff Andy. The way I ride, I'm surprised I'm not outlawed for wakeboarding all together.

if you're looking for flotation...neither are vests you should be looking for.

Isn't outlaw USCG? or is that the Law.... I ride a gooru and really like it. Floats me well, nice fit, no zippers/buckles/straps.

The outlaw def. floats you more than a gooru, it stays in place on impacts better too thanks to the single strap.

The Outlaw is the better of the two vests. It floats better and stays on during hard crashes. I'll probably go back to that vest this year. I always loved them.

I've ridden both, and currently use an old outlaw. The outlaw stays down and floats you better. It's all about having at least one buckle around your midsection. Anything without a buckle always comes up when I take hard crashes, can't stand it. I'd go with a new outlaw.

i have an outlaw and love it, stays down on hard crashes and seems to float me at least a little, I have never tried the gooru though for any comparison

the gooru definitely comes up on crashes. It does come equipt with holes to tie your boardshorts to, but mine are both ripped out from hard falls. Neither vest will float you too well, i still vote gooru

Ha Ha, I think that it's funny that those of us with the gooru still love it, even though when you think about it, it is super dangerous.

Ha ha yeah Andy, you can do that. If I hadn't had them tied on during a hard crash, I would have completely lost my vest though. It serves a little but of a purpose.
