Does anyone have any info on a private lake near Denver that has an opening? Any info would be great.
Thanks.

good luck!! I've been looking for a while now with no luck. you have to know someone on the lake and then when there is an opening they can get you on usually before anybody on the list

Bros, I live in Broomfield and ride on la familia's 85 acres. We've got an 02 Supra SS DD. They are super sketchy about allowing other boats out there, hence the reason we snagged this 02 up.

Maybe we can hook up some time or rock your rides. Either of you have a VLX? JK.

Nothing beats solo boat status, beers, bass and b_ _. Btats, minus the last two letters. :-)

kevin, the best way to get on to a private lake in my opinion is to make friends. meet people out of your circle and crew! the information that you are trying to obtain is hard to come by. to be honest there are proably not going to be a whole lot of responses giving that information out to someone they dont know.

Thanks for the reply guys. Maybe we'll get lucky. We are a "family of boaters" not just wreckless kids looking for a good time. We usually travel quite a bit with the RV looking for good lakes and this year the twins who are 5 would like to learn on their own instead of being on daddy's board with daddy. It's a little safer on a private lake instead of the public ones with all of the beginners. Hopefully the dealer we ordered the boat from might have some info too. I understand how difficult it might be but maybe we might get lucky.
Thanks for the reply's guys.

nice. Good luck on the lake search i lived 3 hours from denver and I would ride there often and from what I have seen the public lakes are not as bad as most. I think most lakes in the denver area are actually semi-public because you have to apply for a permit and there is a limited supply (not sure on that). I will be riding in denver this summer so I am sure I will see you out on the lake.

Ya the public lakes really aren't bad but a private lake would be nice. I'm in the area too so I'll see you out there

Danielle - there are quite a few in the Loveland area, one in Longmont, and even some in Denver. If you meet enough people in the wake scene in CO you will get to ride these private lakes. I spent my last three seasons in Colorado at private lakes before I moved to AZ. Three of the best summers of my life.

Just joined a private lake outside of Longmont, most of the lakes I know of are on a yearly basis. In other words.. you might be a couple months late on your search. If you are still looking in December of next year, hit me up, I'll see if I can get you an application.

Kraig - Not to get off the subject but are you putting together the Mile High Meet and Greet again this year?
Old     (kraig)      Join Date: Dec 2002       02-21-2008, 6:55 PM Reply
Russell- Yes we are! In fact, I've been working on it a bit and we should have some info for everyone here soon. I was going to get ahold of you. I've got some questions for ya concerning the event. Is your cell phone number still the 618 area code? I still have it in my phone. Or give me a call when you get a chance. 720-363-3000

And to everyone else, the fourth annual MileHigh Meet & Greet will be this May. The 2008 MileHigh Meet & Greet!

Brian, where is it at and whats the name? I went and looked at one near Longmont and it was pretty small and I was not interested.

the last time i checked beggers aren't choosers about private lakes!! i guess the best alternative is deathfield. dubbe why didn't you jump on it? smooth water is better than no water. aren't most private lake people jerks anyway?

cant wait kraig went last year ate some delicious food and had a great time.

Hey Mike I'm not a begger so I can be choosy. I'm perfectly happy with the lakes I go to. Ya it would be nice to get on a private lake but it has to be right. If your going to pay the kinda money they want I just think it should be right. I just did'nt want to be in a countinous turn while wakeboarding
Old     (hype29)      Join Date: Feb 2007       02-22-2008, 6:01 PM Reply
oh!! and whats deathfield? never heard of it?
Old     (flattirenotube)      Join Date: May 2007       02-22-2008, 6:22 PM Reply
chatfield most likely.....i live 4 blocks from sloan lake in denver. The water is always smooth on the week days and on the weekends i have never seen more than 5 or 6 boats on the lake. I think a permit for the year is 200 for denver residents and 400 for non residents. If you are a non resident let me know and you can use my address for rides for the cheaper rate.

I call it Crapfield
Old     (blind)      Join Date: Jun 2006       02-24-2008, 6:04 AM Reply
patrick, I don't think you could fit more than 5 or 6 boats on sloan lake.

any of the names for chatfield (other than chatfield) describe it pretty well! and even though my friend insists there's a dead body in sloan's, i know there's not cuz it's so shallow and i fall so much that i would've found it! i like sloan's. kevin - definitely hit up the mile high meet and greet. and danielle, i need to get out more too ... i'm sick of studying.

windsor about private membership?

I've checked into that one and there is a long list. It is only about 2 miles from my house. It seems to loose most of its water by august. at least it has the last few years
Old     (hype29)      Join Date: Feb 2007       02-24-2008, 7:36 PM Reply
Also the lake in the city of windsor allows motorized boats 3 days a week for $15 for 4 hours or I think you can pay more for all day. They only allow 6 permits per day and you have to be a windsor resident. Pretty sweet deal we did it a few times last year. Its a perfect sized lake. If anyone wants to come up I can get the permits
