I have a 06 24ssv. I am a long time barefooter and skier. When it comes to boariding i am clueless. My son loves it. He cant get any pop. He gets liitle bunny hops about to the prop wash. He cuts hard at the wake and is getting a lot of speed coming at it but all of his momentum isnt doing anything. He is riding back at 65'. I have tried ballast full (750s on either side and 1000 up front. Moved the plate to just about every possible setting. Thanks for any help at all!

Herman,

Your son sounds to be doing one of a many possible things, I'll list off a few common mistakes; Leaving the wake too early, Flattening off (caused by cutting really hard at the beginning and loosing edge momentum at the wake), Absorbing the wake with his knees (not straightening his legs out at the top of the wake), Holding the rope away from his body/hips.

Try to have him build a progressive edge (start with a slow cut building speed to hit the wake at about a 45 angle), to stand tall (to initiate pop) at the top of the wake, and to hold the rope close to his hips/waist.

If you have any video, or picture of him right when he tries to leave the wake it would help us to better analyze his technique.
