They look much better!! I was having to clean ours every season. So I picked up some Ford Ranger wheels 14x6 ( any junk yard ) and painted them black. I was going to paint the chrome steal wheels but I was able to trade them for the Ranger wheels.

That is TOUGH....so you bought cheap rims from the junk yard and just painted them? What sort of paint did you use? All all trailers the same tire?

A lot of trailers are a 5-4.5 bolt pattern. Yes you can get those Ranger wheels at just about any salvage yard. My brother had a set and we traded. My brother owns a auto resteration shop and he painted them for me. They were sprayed with black epoxy sealer and then cleared. The epoxy with clear gives them a semi gloss look.

Man, you cleaned up those wheels allot, good job. I like those ranger wheels... I would like to do the same thing, but I have a Dorsey trailer with a six lug bolt pattern.

But if you are in a pinch and need to paint wheels, I use auto spray paint. Clean, prime, paint. Rustoleum - semi gloss - black or whatever color you want. Comes out nice. The Rustoleum has a fanned spray nozzle which makes it nice to evenly coat. You have to check the noxxle for it. It will look different than an ordanary nozzle and you can rotate it to fan up/down or left/right.

THat is one heck of a clean up job on those wheels!
