Was out on our paddle boat yesterday in S.E. Indiana. Air temp was a balmy 60, stuck the hand in the water and it was cold. Asked my friendly bassfisherman what the temp was...48*.

So I'm beginning to rethink that whole drysuit thing again. Could be $200 well spent.

We were at Lake of the Ozarks this weekend, Saturday air temp was about 64F, water on my boat guage read 51.4, but it's usually a good 5 degrees over the actual temp. My brother rode in boardshorts and a heater shirt and said it wasn't too bad. I think we'll keep the drysuits stored this spring since we got such a late start.

Lake Superior is about 35, and all the inland lakes are still iced over. I've only ridden in Superior once in April and it was in a wetsuit.

Lake Anderson this weekend, temp went between 54 and 59 water temp. It wasn't bad. It would have been nicer if the sun would have come out a little more and warmed it up though. A few people still did the dry suits, and a few did shorty and full wet suits.

The Willamette river in Portland = cold = upper 40's lower 50's. We have been going out since Feburary. I use a drysuit but others have gone in thier wetsuits and verified that the water was cold. Had one guy just go in shorts because he does not have any gear. He froze his bottom off. He declined a second invitation to go boarding.

The drysuit was one of the best investments I have made. I Actually had to stop riding once because I got too hot in the drysuit. I had to strip down to just a tee shirt underneath.

Last week Lake Millerton, Air temp was 74 water temp between 59-62 depending on the location of the lake, just my boardshorts and a vest. Unfortunatly I ended up with a cold, wonder why Everyone was surprised to see me pull a cold one out from behind my vest after I got up. haha.

Take care

The Columbia River is still colder than poo, but it isn't too bad with a wetsuit. Without a suit though, it would be too cold. Put it this way, there is MAJOR shrinkage this time of year.

2-3 feet of ice still Jeff? They start filling the slew up in 5 days around here and will be full by the 23rd I hear.

Lakes south of town are open as well. Pretty chilly though.

Yeah Pat, the rents were just up at the Cabin on the weekend and it's starting to thaw around the edges (say the first 5 feet), but it will be another 1-3 weeks before it breaks up by the look of it.

Where is this 74 degree water you mentioned in SD. You have a pool or something, or is that a typo. Let me know. Heck, I would trunk it in that water!
