2007 X Star SS with only the stock ballast filled, what speed and length do you ride at? At 75' and going about 24mph the wake is amazing but it is soo wide!

You'll get used to it. Add more ballast and you wont want it to be any narrower. Otherwise, just pick up the speed a bit. A couple tenths will make a huge difference.

I've gotta say the stock ballast doesn't do much. When I rode a stock one I think it was 70' and 24ish.

Loaded down we run 80-85 feet at 25-26 mph depending on if you believe the speedo. Maybe a bit faster.

speed up the boat or shorten the rope; I could be wrong but I think that is the only options you have.

I guess the days of the old 210 wake are long gone for me... sigh.

Paul,

Like Evan said you you will get use to it. We teach everyone at the camp wake to wake heelside and toeside at a minimum of 70. At 75, we are running at 23.5, and I am running off of GPS, so it know it's right. It is such a user friendly wake. I'm guessing coming from a new 210 you need to edge through the wake more. Once you figure out you and all of your joints will love it.

I saw this post and was like what the heck would you want to do that for? But now that I realise you are coming off the old 210 wake it makes sense that its seems super wide.

not sure if more wieght and speed is the key here.....

back to basics... get use to the wake, bring it into 70' and edge hard and carry speed to carry you wake to wake once you get that smooth x-star pop.

Adding tons of ballast is only cheating yourself and chuckin you in the air.. great once you have the basics..
