how much power do they have going to them? mine scream. what are you used to hearing? if its under 200watts RMS that may have been why. I talked to a rep and he said they can handle up to 300 watts RMS no problem. Remember most amps are rated @ 14.4 volts for their RMS. Your boat is not running at 14.4 rather 12.0-13.0 this 1 volt will make a difference. This could also be why the tweeter is blowing (underpowered) causing distortion at high volumes. They are also 8 ohm speakers. All this must be taken in to consideration when considering wattage. I run them off of a punch 200 DSM. rated bridged mono 400 watts RMS @ 12.0 volts. Ran both in parallel, each is seeing right @ 200 wats RMS

ADAM,I am used to hearing NVS.he is powering his evids with a kicker 800.4.400 watt rms @4 ohms @ 12.5 volts.at 8 ohms each speaker is seeing the same as yours.200 watts rms .for the price I don't expect them to compare to NVS but the way every one raves about the evids I should at least be able to hear them.

From what I've read they are no NVS but, for the price $350/pair your not going to find much better. I thin they compareable to 4-6 6x9's, but trow the sound further and clearer. Are you saying you can't hear them at all? Mine you can hear very well behind the boat 75 feet out, outside the wake it gets a little faint. Throw in a stiff breeze in you face and they are a little harder to hear, but they are alot better than 6.5's. If I had the money I upgrade to the NVS no questions asked.

ADAM,we can barely hear them. sometimes its hard to even make out the song.I have installed many stereo systems so I know about gain and distortion.they scream at the back of the boat but at 75' out they are faint at best.are we doing something wrong?.

M,

I don't knwo what to say, maybe someonelse on here can help. You should be able to hear them. Can you hear them out of the water @ 75'?? Maybe you are just spoiled, w/ the NVS. How do they compare against 6.5's or 6x9's? Have you heard those behind a boat? Is the boats exausht extremely loud? How are the crossovers on the amp set on the evids?

Fusion or Mako.

MAKO at Wakeside.com.

FUSION for $899 at Wakeside.com and $999 at Buywake.com.

I've heard both and there's no way you can go wrong with either setup.

Michale,

how does just 1 NVS speaker compare to having a pair? I think stereo sound is not necessary if you are 75 feet away, so 1 might be the trick. I corresponded with Duane (nvswarrior) once and he said 1 would probably be enough for many people, but that he almost always sells them in pairs.

an NVS 1010 is a set of 2 10" subs in a single enclosure. Here's a pic they still may look a little weird with just one but from what I've heard the sound is amazing.

Small Pic but that's what they look like.

I wouldn't think they would look funny. Especially if you have tower that would only fit one. Than it would look like it fits the tower and you have two big a** speakers which is pretty common anyway. Well 2 speakers are common not 2 big a** speakers.

Stereo is NOT necessary, the speakers are sitting next to each other. There is no seperation. BTW most PA systems for rock bands are run in mono. If someone on the right of the arena, bar, stadium can only hear the right channel how would that sound? Not too good!

What if you already have a pair of 530s on the outside and put one NVS 10 in the middle?
