Anybody got any info on propping a Sanger V210?

I bought a new 2004 with the 330hp scorpion and it came with an OJ 4 blade...13X14. To slow out of the hole and only runs out at about 4200-4300RPM.

I use the boat for wakeboarding and Barefooting so I need some bottom end as well as enough top end to keep this big guy's feet on top of the water.

Waterski magazine tested with a Acme 3 blade and it says 13X12.65 at over 47 mph and 5100 RPM.

Any suggestions...? My guess is mine was mis- propped for the 340 HP Scorpion (stroked 350)instead of the 330hp version.

Thanks in advance for any help...

You should be running a 3 blade acme imo. I have the 350 mag and run the 525 (13x11.5 0.8 cup) hole shot is awesome, we routinely run 1800 pounds and 5-7 people. Top speed is only 44mph tho (we carry 500 pounds of lead tho) Talk to Bill Weeks from acme, he will select the right prop for you.

Second that....I have the same prop and it does a great job out of the hole and I haven't noticed any loss of top end speed (not that I ever really get there)!

Darren,

How many RPM's are you turning at WOT? (44mph)

I think it is around 5,100. i'll check next time I am out. If you boat is pulling 4,300 you are definately over propped.

I have the Acme 3 blade 13x11 (or 11.5?) (don't remember the model number because I had a shop put it on). It was the one recommended by a guy at Acme.

I hit about 46mph at WOT-- 5100 rpm. Speedo was dialed right on w/ GPS.

Like the others in this thread, hole shot is awesome even w/ 2K+ lbs. in the boat.

Best upgrade for my boat (right up there with perfect pass, at least).

Thanks guy's for all the info. I talked to Bill at ACME and he told me to get a 13x12, 3 blade w/.08 cup. I will give it a shot this afternoon and see what happens.

I definately think I was leaving some R's on the water. Will update after I make some sunset runs tonight.

Got it for $299 from Rich's Prop Shop. I didn't need to ship it...they are just "down the road a piece" from here. I did have tax though SMK

Good deal.

Tip: Use spline grease or pipe thread dope on the shaft to make it easier to get off the next time.

Well,

The results are in... Went from 44.3 MPH to 47.6 MPH (GPS)@5100 rpm. The hole shot is better but not as good as I would like it, as a barefooter. Deepwater barefoot starts are a little sluggish but I guess I am used to my old outboard.

Wakeboard wakes have definately improved...

All in all, worth the $$$.
