My buddy used to have an '06 with a Samson tower on it. The boat looked sweet and was huge inside, that's about all I remember.

Does anyone know if they are even making boats anymore? I heard a while back about an updated model, but then nothing...

Matt.

They are still selling them but from what I hear you almost just have to call the factory and custom order one. I think they are trying to get some dealers to start selling them again from what I hear. But I think they will have a hard time getting back in the game if they don't come out with something new.

They are building Ski Supreme's now in their factory now. I drive by their factory once or twice a month and I havent seen any new designs/prototypes but I could be wrong. I mostly see Ski Supremes coming out now. I am a very satisfied Calabria Pro V owner and giving my boat a full overhaul. New interior, new batteries, new stereo, pulling carpet out and going with hydroturf and possibly even a wrap for the exterior.

I reached out to them a few years back to see if they were going to build a true 24-25 footer and they were not.

Fineline/Centurion bought Supreme. Why are they making boats at Calabria?

The relationships between the California towboat companies are all over the place...

^Lame graphics? How about lame comment...last I checked this was a "Calabria Love" thread not a bash other ppl's stuff thread....and I happen to like the graphics, so your opinion means nothing since my better opinion cancels yours out....just sayin

I'm sure there's another thread out there where you can praise someones skull and bones wrap, monster energy drink, nestle quick, or even preparation H stickers.

"Dirty" that's not lame at all.......I bet you're the coolest guy you know.

Wasn't trying to disrespect any one but you gotta admit tribal graphics are seriously played out along time ago. Maybe a real good reason Calabria DONT sell very well. Once again sorry if offended any one wAsnt my intentions
Old     (bstroop)      Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Athens, Alabama       04-04-2013, 4:43 PM Reply
No worries,
The tribal graphics are in the gelcoat so they can't be changed unless you wrap over them. I appreciate the fact that the're tastefully done and not overboard like on some other manufacturers or peoples wraps. I would have preferred the swoosh/checker graphics like the ones above but when you find a deal that is too good to pass up you can't let something like that be the deal breaker IMO.

Lame to me is: Someone buying a wake boat that is ridiculously overpriced with an upgraded ballast system and video monitors just to look cool and be a heel side hero when you occasionally take your Parks board outta the rack. LOL but I'd never jump on a Nautique/MC thread and share my interpretation of the word.

I'm just an overweight middle age guy who loves to see the smiles on my little boys faces when were out in our played out graphic boat........

(and Calabria is a pretty small company that stopped production in 2009 I believe. I don't think that they don't sell well, it's just that there aren't that many around)

I really like ProV's and ProV2's. When the ProV came out there was nothing like it. It was like a living room compared to other boats of that era. It probably had more cockpit space than other companies 23 and 24 foot boats. The only thing close in interior space and under 23 feet was the Tige 21V and even it looks small inside compared to the PRoV. I always felt like there were a quality boat and the purevert system was way ahead of it's time. They were also the first company to come out with a 102" beam I believe in a wakeboat. The biggest problem with them is they basically didn't change a single thing besides graphics and the tower in the entire time they made it. I really like DBC's buddy's with the Samson tower. Looks great.

I think if Calabria took the same running surface but added 4-6 inches of free board and increased they ballast they could be sick and sell well if they could keep the price down under 60k. In my opinion the biggest downfall besides simply not updating them is the really shallow seat bases and seat backs. That and maybe going to a snap out carpet. They always seemed to come loaded up with PP, trim tab, under floor ballast, heater, etc... In reality they had a lot of the same things that MB has but MB changed, came out with a new style and graphics and took off. Calabria disappeared.

Here's a crappy pic of my 08 Team-V

Completely agree with you, Bill. I enjoy everthing about it and it does everything that I want it to do. Some more freeboard would be nice for a deeper storage for a bigger subwoofer though.

Question: Has anyone replaced their steering cable on their Calabria?

Here is my 55y/o dad surfing it too:

I didn't know they were still in business. They were big out here in 02 and you would see them, but haven't seen one in a long time. The only ting I remember was a huge wake. My buddy bought one, lasted about 4momths then sold it an bought an LSV. Had so many issues back then. Good to see they are still around after all. Competition grows the sport

I bought an 06 PRO V last September, I love the boat! Lots of room inside and all the "upgrades" I could use- shower, heater, PP, ballast... puts up a great wake, the family loves it! I'll snap some pics this weekend while we are out crusing the Delta..

I have three kicker 12" solobarics in my Pro V. One in each rear locker and i custom built a jump seat that sits between the windshield with the third sub in it. My boat is getting a major overhaul and will be back in the next few days with my new interior. Cannot wait for summer which here in CA has already started.

I really like this thread... Almost pulled the trigger back in 2008 on a Pro V but money was a little tight. Rode a 02 Pro V quite a bit and really enjoyed the wake and the space. Good looking rides everybody!

Dustin,

Are those Rev-10's?

I'm a little nervous to actually wakeboard with my the additional weight on the tower.

^^^^ I have the wetsounds 3 some and have had no problems with the tower and wakeboarding. I have had them on the tower for 3 years. Do you guys with the speakers under ther tower worry about clrearence and people hitting there head on the speakers?
Old     (Rad_Matty_D)      Join Date: Jun 2011       05-01-2013, 1:38 PM Reply
Oh yeah. People have to duck on my boat. there was no way around it though with the Pro485 in the middle because my bimini is attached to the front bar.

I used to just have just a Pro485 and Pro60's but replaced the Pro60's with 2 sets of Rev-8's. I definitely notice more floex in the steel...
Old     (wake26)      Join Date: Mar 2009       05-01-2013, 2:16 PM Reply
I reworked my bimini to go around the 485 and put the 2 80 either side of the tow point. (pic up top) wife got tired of ducking in and out of the boat.
Old     (uofamox)      Join Date: Feb 2007       05-01-2013, 6:58 PM Reply
i have two Pro 485s on top of the tower and have had no issues. That titan tower is very very stiff and solid. I am planning to have the boat done to hit the water on Sat so i will post some pics soon.

Yes they are rev 10s wakeboarding isn't a problem I did replace the bushings before I had the speakers installed.

I have a free air wet sounds sub. I put it under the drivers side cockpit by the foot rest, Just cut out a hole in the plate/board under the dash and it worked out great.

Stopped by the Calabria factory yesterday, Joyce showed me a new boat and forward facing tower that they are doing, looks really nice! The boat is headed to Colorado...
My wife and kids also picked up a stray kitten that was wandering around the factory. So we named here Cala.

i know this thread is kinda old but i'm looking at a calabria right now... has a really ugly tower i think its 01 are the hulls still the same. And is it true that the pure vert ballast in this year can only fill and empty both simultaneously? how would you compare the wake. More Bu ... or More Nauti. And can i get a great surf wave out of this boat. I have 2340 lbs of fat sacs currently.
Old     (jhartt3)      Join Date: Jan 2012       07-31-2013, 6:51 AM Reply
Also was calabria all composite in 2001? and what do you guys do about replacement pure vert gates? i've heard about them sticking.

No calabria Dudes out there with any info. done some research hard to dig up stuff on these.

I can't speak for the 01 year. I have two switches to open either port/starboard pure-vert gates. My surf wave is pretty good. I have the Team-V model which has 1100lbs under the floor and I add another 700 in sacs and then I have 4 batteries too.

I have heard of the Pure vert sticking but I've never actually seen it. Calabria actually has good customer service. Give them a call with your questions.

I don't think you're getting any responses because I don't think there are many 01's on the forum.

so is calabria still supporting their boats even though they dont build them anymore?
Old     (bass10after)      Join Date: Feb 2010       07-31-2013, 1:23 PM Reply
i looked at one myself and almost bought two different boats on two seperate occasions. The only way to know if that boat can only fill and dump both tanks at once is to look and see if it has seperate switches for each side. the boat is basically the exact same as the newer ones. the only thing they changed was some interior mods, dash mod and tower. If you wanted to update the tower i'm sure calabria could help with that as they're a small company and if you have more questions i'd call them directly and ask for help. I'm sure any issues with pure vert could be fixed relatively easy, and its an awesome system for ease of use and fill/drain times. One thing to keep in mind is that its actually a 21.5' boat but they include the swim platform in their measurement and call it 23'. The cabin certainly feels like a 23'er but the bow is where you'll be able to notice that its smaller. good luck.

I had to replace one of the motors on my ballast tank gates... its a standard RV electric wastegate.... and also I relubed and replaced a drive gear on the other... very easy repair.

Calabria still supports the boats. I picked up a few odds and ends from them. I've heard that on the earlier pro v's both sides filled off of one switch. I believe you can add a second and isolate them. The old towers were garbage.

i bought a new pro v 2 in 2011 i contacted them and had great service, they answered all my questions, its a great boat, just contact them.

So is this boat actually 21.5' long... b/c my lake has a 21' length limit. i assumed it was 21' since it says 23.5' with a 30" swim platform = 2.5' 23.5'-2.5' = 21 ft. am i wrong b/c i dont want to buy this and not be able to ride it
Old     (Rad_Matty_D)      Join Date: Jun 2011       08-02-2013, 12:05 PM Reply
Uh, I'm not sure man. My registration and insurance has my Pro-V listed as a 23.5' vessel. Even though it truly is only 21-21.5 w/o swim platform I'm not sure how you'd be able to pull that one off if you get pulled over and everywhere listed says it's 23.5' long.
