their web site says that they cant be moved to different boats unless the rear legs were the same width on each boat. is this true?

As long as theyre not drilled through and bolted, or if you don't plan on doing this on another setting it should work..they are universal after all

i moved mine from my bayliner to my nautique 2001, they have a similar beam and i just kinda made it fit.

At first i was not sure if it would fit my 2001 after being on the bayliner and we had planned to have a local welder fill in the hole, and ask monster tower for 4 new expanding bolts and to redrill

I had a monster tower on my first boat and i sold it to a friend and he put it on his boat no problems...he just drilled out the anchor sleeves and then put it on his boat and then he put more right back in there..worked like a dream..
