Dan, what kind of MH did you buy? I just bought an old Bounder, but since I sold our local boat, I will have to wait until next summer when I get another boat to take pics. After having twins, I figured the tent camping was over. Anyways, you said you were going to paint it, so I was curious if it was fiberglass, and how you were going to do it. Mine could use a little paint.

It's a 95 monterey by cobra and we too just didn't want to do the tent thing anymore. They just make the whole trip better especially when you set up and break camp or if it rains. Have you used yours yet? Bounder's are nice, we were looking at on and it sold before we could pull the trigger. I don't know about they paint but the guy at the dealership said he had seen it done and didn't think it was too expensive so I guess we will see.

I have not had the chance to use mine yet. We are going out for our first outing fathers day weekend. It will be interesting. Having 2 6 month olds takes a lot of work. We basically have to move our house into the camper. Hopefully it will be fun though.

They give you a new zip code with that thing?
You ought to to leave the mauve to match your convertible miata.
Kidding you guys have to be excited.

Brad its not that bad you will have a great time. Plus you have a place for the kids to nap.

Mine is in back.
It was teal and purple so I stripped all the stipes of and left the charcoal, and was going to put more stripes on but liked it the way it was. I put a little blue stripe in there to match the boat. We love ours.
Was posted earlier last week.

I just bought new tires for mine. I told the guy I wanted cheap tires because I don't plan to drive it far. I go and pic it up and he starts explaining that the tires they put on it are not steal belted, and it will take a mile or two for them to warm up. I drove out of there and the thing felt like it was riding on square blocks for the first two blocks. I guess that is why I got such a "good deal"

it's nice how many miles and what options?
Old    Paul (psudy)      Join Date: Dec 2003       06-08-2007, 8:16 AM Reply
It has about 56K on it. Options? I am not to familiar with what comes with it and what is classified as options. It has an onan generator, shower, two ACs, two TVs(soon to be linked with Direct tv), rear door(which should be nice with kids) and cruise control.

Does yours? If not, what do you use? I went to Auto Zone and looked at some jack stands, but they wanted $80 a piece for them. I was hoping to find something cheaper.

How level does it have to be? I understand the fridge has to be somewhat level to work properly, but is there anything else of utmost importance. or is it just a preference thing?
Old    dan w (future)      Join Date: Sep 2005       06-08-2007, 1:46 PM Reply
the fridge primarily but if it's not level you will get tired of it real fast

Okay, any issues actually pulling the boat with the motorhome? I started talking with my brother in law's father yesterday about maybe buying his motor home. It is like 20 years old. Carbureted 454 27' class A. He babies his stuff and I will assume it is in fantastic condition.

Towing around here is serious business. Going to mountain lakes, there are A LOT of high grade summits with long pulls to get to the top.

Can't help you there. Kansas is flat, with straight roads. I am taking it out this weekend, so I will let you know what its like to drive it in high winds. I am sure it will be a white knuckle event.
