Looking to camp on a lake somewhere... would really like to camp right down by the water.. I was thinking maybe Osoyoos Lake? Any suggestions?

Are you look towards the west side of the Cascades or the east?

Try Lake Roosevelt. Tons of areas for shore camping by boat. Launch at the marina at Kettle Falls.

Does roosevelt get really busy in August?

If I go to Osoyoos it doesnt really matter which side I stay on. I guess the west side would be better. What is the state park like on Osoyoos? It looks like there's a river that you can bring boats in and tie them up there... then camp right along side it.

You most likely wont find any beach camping at Roosevelt. Water typically is covering the beaches up right now. There are some good campgrounds though all over the lake.

If you go to Roosevelt I'd recommend just going all out and getting a house boat, that's the best thing there, but it's still a sweet lake all around, and guarantee you'll find some smooth water for riding spots. Other than that, you can always do Chelan, but if you plan on wakeboarding you're out of luck. There's also Lake Wapato over by Chelan, it's a smaller lake with a campground on the water. Also Banks lake is good, and potholes lake. I've heard those are all pretty good.
