There really aren't many wires you have to worry about. You just need to know how to work a DC current tester to find a constant source of power and a switched source of power. You'll tie the yellow wire to the constant source and the red wire to the switched source, which will most likely come from the ignition. Then you'll tie the black wire to a ground wire, which is usually a yellow wire. I did my first one ever just a few weeks ago and I learned A LOT. Give it a shot anyway, you'll never learn unless you try. I'm sure there are a lot of good sources on this board to help you figure it all out and I'll help when I come on.
