man dont pay that. its easy in three hours you can have it installed. all you have to do is....
- un bolt your steering cable from the rudder
- un bolt your steering cable from the steering wheel
- tie a string to the steering cable end (at the rudder)
- pull the steering cable out from the steering wheel end (with string attached)
- get the number off of the steering cable (probably teleflex)
- order new steering cable from internet (try boatfix.com) just type in steering calbe number, I just ordered one for $90
- tie end to string and pull through (routing it through same area as the old one)
- bolt back on just like the old one.
I just did this one month ago on my dd, and i also put on a seadog rubber boot on the end of the cable. boatfix sells that as well. Now there might be a cheaper place but that was the cheapest that i found.
