Any input on Audiobahn A8002V amps

Trying to decide between this amp and a Hifonics TXi 6006. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Both relatively inexpensive. I've had the audiobahn 8002t (old A800v)) for about 2 years. No problems in the two years. I don't know if they can really push 800x1 RMS though.

havent tried them but audiobahn doesnt have that good of a reputation...

if your budget is $200 i might suggest a used zapco 350 reference series or a jl audio 300/2. both these amps are world class, superb sonics, nice build, relaible, and will deliver the goods..

What are you goignot be using the amp for ? (tower, interior, subs) I've tried the 300/2 on my tower speakers....not enough power compared to the audiobahn 8002t. I ran into a guy abotu a year ago with a pair of NVS 1010's at the time I had the same speakers. He had his on the 4125 PPI that alto fo peope use to push them. I had mine each on it's own a8002t. We both agreed mine sounded better. I'm guessing b/c of the increased power I had to mine. I have no idea what settign he had on the amp or even the HU he was suign. I had the stock kenwood on mine and no eq.

you can always use it for this..

adam, It will only be used to push the tower speakers which are Rubicon 350's. They are rated at 3 ohms. HU is the Kenwood that is factory installed in the Supra 21v.

for nvs 1010's or rubicons 350's you might want to get something a little more substanial than a $200 audiobahn amp... you are getting some really good $1300 tower speakers.. if a amp starts to clip (underpowered, it will cause damage to the speakers).

talk to duanne at nvs or dave at skylon and ask them what amps they used to design the speakers and duanne would more than likely say zapco 750 or 1000, i would suspect skylon would say tru amps (pretty pricey amps)... i heard the rubicons 450's on a zapco 750 refernce and it was very, very good..

btw, zapco is phasing out their older reference series (grey) in favor of the dc reference and you can get the older style at 10% above cost..they are still very, very good amps.

you might want to add a line driver that has at least 8 volts..

i seriously doubt a audiobahn 8002 can take a jl 300/2 (underrated amp with a true regulated power supply... more than likely it was set up wrong - the jl are a bit sopisicated and can easily be set up wrong (ran across this a couple times)..

clubmyke, where can I get a 750 reference 10% above cost. That would be a sweet deal.

call around to your local dealers (i just picked up a brand new 1100.1 for $775 plus tax)..

the original refernce is being discontinued for the new dc reference (tell that to the dealer in a really nice way and ask him what they can do)
