well I'm going to test drive a 1995 hydrodyne grand sport today any opions or stuff to look for

They built a pretty solid boat, but I don't know about the wake, never seen it. I heard when Cobolt got into ski boats, they used Hydrodyne's molds and layup process.

Actually I think Calabria now owns the Hydrodyne mods, and didnt hydrodyne make a boat this year?

Hydrodynes are awesome boats, former world champ Gordy Bubolz runs a camp here with four boats. He gets a brand new x2 and xstar every year, but keeps two hydrodynes around as well.

He says the wake is awesome when sacked out, and his boats have over 1600 hours on them. He wont even sell them, loves em.

The GRAND SPORT Elite was a good boat. Made up until
1997 I think. In a HARD RIGHT turn UNDER power you will get a fair amount of spray in the drivers face. Good Boat well made.

Look for all the typical stuff. Split cushions. Loose motor clamps
oil in bildge, All operational guages. Drove many a Dyne over the years 16 17 and 18 foot singles and twins. Good boat
www.nada.com can give you boat values. bear in mind the boat is no longer made. Cobalt did purchase the molds and Calabria is using them now. Probably better built under the HYDRODYNE and COLBALT names.

Those Cobalts were some of the nicest ski boats made. Very high end. Too bad they only last a couple years

the test went great very clean good wake and lots of power!!! I will post some pics soon

I still think that if Cobalt would have waited a couple years to build a tournament boat when the wakeboard market was really booming they would have been successful. If I ever get out of watersports and just buy a recreational boat it will be a Cobalt no question about it. Probably the best looking boats on the water. I got to see one of the first production models of their closed bow boat back in '97 at a K-State tournament, the boat was really nice, especially with the K-State purple color scheme!

I have only seen 2 in person though. Sometimes you can catch one for sale on boat trader.

this boat is sweeeeeeeeeet we love it took it out for the weekend and put 10 hours on it
