Took these this morning during breakfast. Man they're quick and sketchy about being around people.


I assume, in the lower pic, his face is all red because he's been sucking on that feeder for a week now. That's the second time I've filled it this week.

Actually that's the Calypte Anna or Anna's Hummingbird to the layperson.. Easily identified by the reddish coloring of its head. These hummingbirds are indigenous to the warmer climates of southern California and can be found through out the US and Canada... blah blah blah..

nice pics. In the bottom foto it look like she want to give the photog a big, fat hug..

I've been keeping the shade open during the mornings and it seems that all of them are getting more and more used to me sitting here on my laptop. There is a group of 4 or 5. I did see a guy today that had a purple "Costas" i think?

Ya they are challenge to shoot. You have to be very quick.

what was your shutter speed at? about 1000?
