okay, i have regular hs fs threes. Regarding switch I couldnt figure out whether to try a switch three or five, so i just went for it. The backside element of the pass is a lot easier for me than regular front side three's and I got the handle consistently, the only problam was I regularly landed switch heelside 450's today. Which should I concentrate on, sw hs threes or sw hs fives.....five seems easier if i can just get it around a bit more.

i have yet to land any kind of 5, but i can do regular, and sometimes switch hs 3s. i wouldn't skip the switch 3. perhaps with ts spins the 5 is easier, but i haven't heard anyone say that about hs spins, regular or switch.

i would also think you weren't getting the final handle pass if you were landing 450s. concentrate on getting your 3s solid, then go for the 5s. actually then go for grabbed 3s, then the 5s. :-)

this sport is all about progression.

then learn a tsbs 3, then you could get the switch hs 5 no problem.

the handle pass for tsbs 3's are a serious biatch.

sheesh - does everyone want to blow off progression around here?? :-) how 'bout tsbs180's first?

although something tells me more people get switch 5s before they can do bs ts 3s...

Fives probably seem easier because you land front - I say go for the five. Practice on the trampoline w/handle to try and stick the last half of the rotation.

ha, thanks for the advice.....but i cant jump toeside. I know, lame right? Used to have it, lost it, cant get it back. Regarding the switch heel fives.......im going to land one next time out, ill report back.

well since the landing of a switch hs 5 is going to be the same as a regular toeside jump, maybe you should work on landing toeside, then landing sw hs 5 would be a little easier...

fundamentals??? anyone?

get on the tramp and do switch heel 7's, that will help.

Oh, and learn something toeside for the sake of skurfing.

rob i hadnt thought of that.....i think that might be what slows my rotation down. im passing the handle no problem but it is a few inches off my back....im going riding either tomorrow or friday, ill report back.

personally i would leartn a regular heelside bs 180 once that is down then toeside bs 180 then that switch three can be dialed in from there. Once that three is dialed it will make those fives alot more stylish and slow. the reason for the backside 180's is tht it is the same rotation as the last 180 in your swithc hs 360

a switch hs 5 is made up of a ts bs 180, switch hs 360, and a switch hs 180. you can practice those on the surface to get comfortable at first. doing big super late 180s helps the ending of the trick. landing your switch hs 3's with both hands on the handle helps as well. pitching over a little helps too. you can learn this off the roller on the turn around, 1 wake, inside out, then w2w. i would imagine if you couldnt do a switch hs 360, then the switch hs 540 is going to be a little out of reach. but by all means, if you can get the handle passes no problem and stay on axis, go for it.

got back out today and no dice. I did land a switch 3 though.....I think I better dial those in first. That second pass is a B**ch even if the rotation feels more natural, thanks for all the advice peeps.
