this hamper riding ability and skill progression? I ride an Absolute 141, weigh 170lbs. but don't seem to be getting any better. Should I go to an Intermediate board and if so any suggestions on which one. There is no demo shop around here. Thanks.

the absolute is good for all levels. In fact when they make a new shape the old absolute shape becomes a beginner/intermediate board. there is no such thing as an advanced board btw.

certain boards will hamper ability if you don't use them properly... ie if you don't edge properly on a loose board you are obviously going to have a very hard time...

you've got to remember though, the board does not make the rider, its all technique

I'll second the Absolute being a good all around board for all skill levels. I have been on boards that weren't very fogiving or felt too loose when I was first starting out, but the Absolute always felt right. The premier is not too bad either. I would stick with what you got, if you don't, let me know what year you have, I am looking for an 03 or newer Absolute.
