While wake-break is a factor it is not the only criteria. Before anyone can answer a question on rope length, they need to know if the rope is mounted to a tower/pylon or a ski-eye on the transom.
This alone will make a difference of about 7 to 10 ft..
55 feet is not unheard of for riding behind an I/O with the rope on the transom.
Why do you think rope makers have 3 section wakeboard ropes?
It is not for running 15 off through the buoys.
